Description My sister in law is building a little theater for her son (see my blog for the project layout). I am helping her out with the decor.
This is the first panel for the gates of the theater....I still don't know the details of the story behind the magical encounter between the dryad and the children, but I am sure it's a fantastic adventure. Maybe one day, at a family reunion, we will figure it out...

Copic and Prismacolor markers, pencils, and white gel pen on Canson paper.

You can see the WIP on my blog The mermaid in the living room

Amazing work, so detailed, enough artifacts on the scene, great.!!! Only the spotlight is not clear where it is.

Thanks! The interactions between the kids and the tree were the original theme, but then... I like to have many parallel stories going on at the same time and the picture became overpopulated...so the spotlight is where your favorite scene is, I guess.

Sorry for answering late...busy time! Thanks so much for your nice words (and the fav! ^^). I wanted to make something special so my little darling will remember her auntie living far away even if we see each other rarely.

I don't even know where to start, there's just so many places that keep me fascinated in this. I really love the Eastern influence of the smoke. It still feels very childlike/fairytale-like, but also elegant and mysterious. And the way you used color in the trees seems to make the whole thing glow. They add depth as well. Really amazing work!

Thank you very much for the wonderful comment. I really like japanese clouds and I always have fun using in my drawings. It took a long time to get to the right color for the trees. I was afraid itthe green would turn out too strong and vivid, but it seems to be rather all right...^^

Again you amaze me , I love your pictures where everything is so independent and interactive at once([link] [link] ). It's not just the dryad and the children but also the crow and the fox, the curious bunnies and so videre.

Thank you so much! I love to have multiple storylines, especially when I draw for little one. The fox and crow are to pay homage to the story that great gran use to tell my husband and his siter when they were young (le corbeau et le renard...she used to start the story-in french, as she was born in France- then fall asleep half way through...way before the children!). A sweet family memory for the little one in the family.

Thank you so much Ricky! Indeed I love drawing, but most of all I am trying to infuse in this project all the love for my little nephew Pietro, who lives in Italy and I get to see only via Skype and a few days during summer time. ^^ So glad you liked it...I hope he'll enjoy it as well!
