Description
I uploaded a slightly photoshopped version of this one: the colors from the scan were really poor...let's see if the situation improves...Entry for Biscuitbear’s Tea with Alice contest on the Enchanted Dolls forum ([link] ).
Once again, I was inspired by Marina Bychkova’s work: in this case, by her masterful rendition of Alice in Wonderland. The beadwork on Alice’s apron is simply amazing…and it drove me almost insane as I was trying to reproduce it.
Marina is on deviantart: [link]

The Mad Hatter of course takes quite a lot from Johnny Depp’s character in the latest Alice in Wonderland movie.
Technique: copic markers and pencils on Fabriano Disegno paper.

But Burton's hatter is a clown, and not mad at all...

After drawing them I felt less repelled by them, like if they had become old friends...I spent way too much time on this one!

Heyyy! I just watched the Burton version for the first time last week! I like your Hatter more... Johnny Depp's eyes really creeped me out! hehe! Your attention to detail is amazing! I love how colourful everything is and the way you lead our eyes through your pictures.

Thank you so much!
I loved drawing it, although at times it seemed as I would never be able to finish it (so many details take a long time to draw and color!!! ). As for the colors, I'd really like to be a bit more subdued and refined...but I always end up with a psychedelic rainbow...
PS: I think they digitally manipulated Depp's eyes to look bigger and pop out more!

Ah!! What lovely work! I love the paper you used and the design of Alice's outfit. It reminds me of the dresses that my mom used to buy me in Switzerland. They always had bells and flower embroideries. Lovely work.
