I don' know...hehehe. XD I guess it's cuz I don't talk about em too much on dA. They are plastered all over my FB tho. I had 6, but just lost my 1st. A male named Merl. He had 2 diseases surface at once. And recently passed away. He was 4ish

I got my 1st when I was 13 a female named Fanny. I think that was back in '85? And I've had them on and off since. My latest 3 I got off of CL. After I got Merl, I got Fifi a few weeks later, and then Tipper a few weeks after that lol. Then off of CL about 4 months ago I got and named the male, SoChi, then Piper and Pearl as a set about 2 months later for free.

I guess so! I only ever post to my Facebook too. Aww, I'm so sorry. After reading and learning about them, it seems like it's common for diseases and it sucks because, by far, they are the best pets I've ever had.

Wow! That's a long time! They all get along? We recently decided to get one (Lily) and she was the best decision I ever made. After that, we ended up getting her a partner (Jackson) a few weeks later. It's EXTREMELY hard not to get more! I kinda wish I could but duty calls, so 2 is our limit! They are simply the best pets I've ever had, though. They are everything I want in a pet and more.

Oh my gosh, they are to die for! My heart aches for them whites and silvers! I really wanted one but ended up with a chocolate toned silver mitt and a standard sable. I still have a dream of owning an albino. (Curse the needs for colors!) I can't imagine taking care of them all!

~Oh, ferrets/fitch are awesome cuz they normally live in colonies, so as long as they are all about the same age(not babies) there's no problems. They sniff each other like crazy, then are like, "Hey newcomer! Come on and join in on our game!" 

However larger males will pick on the smaller females by grabbing them anywhere on their faces & drag them off. It's normal, but I intervene. Merl and Fifi were very well bonded. But once I got Tipper, he learned that Fifi is deaf and LOUD. So, when he's hungry he'll drag her out of a dead sleep from anywhere by her cheek or ear & make her SCREAM. We call it Tippers way of "ringing the dinner bell." So, to prevent that, I make sure they always have food available. And it's stopped.

When sweet and docile Piper came along, lovable and loving Merl began to drag Piper around by HER face. And he was relentless. Piper and Merl looked nearly identical, and it didn't start for a few weeks till after everyone was well settled in, even though they all slept together from day one. I am sure it's an instinctual male dominance thing. 

SoChi however has never done that. I have no idea why. The only thing that's different is his color. And none of the males have done that to Pearl. But then again, Pearl is a spit-fire. So, if they tried, she probably retaliated immediately instead of submitting.

~I figured, 1 ferret poops and needs to be cleaned daily, so 6 isn't really that much harder. And the 'romp time' is filled with endless hilarity!

~I just wanted 6 ferrets. LOL, not sure y. I guess cuz 6 is more fun than 2? I'd have moooore, but I only have so much cage space. So 6 is the max. I'll home any color, either sex. I used to want ____, but since I'm not gonna shell out $150 or so per ferret when so many are being rehomed, I'd just take in what was available. I guess I just got lucky. --I did know the lady at PetCo who got me breaks on the ferret prices, but I don't think she work there any more.
