How long has it been since I was able to make something in a style I honestly liked? Holy crap, it's been ages. lol.My freetime to make 3d art at home has been so obscenely limited since I had kids that I always felt like, if I was doing modeling at home, it should be something super high detail and zbrushed etc. because that was valid towards work. Sort of, improving my ability to do shit that was ps3 spec - you know? It felt like doing lowpoly art was a waste of my very limited time because it wouldn't be applicable to work. Especially this style. Hyper-Realism is the only thing my old studio ever did, and anything stylized is like beyond comprehension.
But not now! ha ha! lol
So this was created with iOS spec in mind. I've already got her in the Unity engine with a range of motion animation. It was ridiculously easily. Unity is frickin godly. No wonder it's become so popular among indies.
I'm going to be making a bunch of outfits, hairstyles, skin tones, faces for her and sell it as a pack on the Unity Store. You'd be able to swap out things and make a bunch of different characters all with one pack, so it's be a lot more useful to devs than buying a single stand-alone character, like most of the characters for sale on the store.

And I shall continue to marvel, regardless of the poly count. May the vertices be ever in your favour!

In my opinion nice but maybe lips are little too high...

Great lowpoly job and what a good idea to make this pack for sale!
Also Unity is just amazing indeed. Last year I went to a conference in which Unity staff showed the new features of the v3.5 that was about to be released and it was so stunning! All those features with pathfinding, particles and all it was just... astonishing... literaly jaw-dropping XD
And regarding modeling, have you tried 3D-coat? I've stopped following the development of the soft but the last version I used was horrible! Unwraping UV was easy as pie, retopology was even easier with simple clicks and even an auto option that was actually working well... And I never found a soft as handy for 3D painting.

I can't honestly say - I just happen to know a bunch of guys who dev for Unity and they've always been raving about it, and how easy it is for them to get assets for their stuff by just using the Unity Asset Store. They all suggested I sell stuff on there, so I'm giving that a shot. I don't know if Unreal has anything like that, but I don't think it does.

You're right, it doesn't strictly have an asset shop you'd need to buy ready game models from else where, though at least converting is somewhat a simple task.
Side note straight to you Athey I totally get where you're coming from with your post. I've got 2 young kids and a sick wife I look after, finding time to model stuff alone is tricky enough and I prefer doing stylized art by a long margin.
Have you thought about making your own shop with game ready models for sale? Also what about making your own table top style game, you have a plastic printer, as long as it's not too expensive to print models you could make a stylized table top game like Warhammer where people can paint the models you've made.
