Description
full title: "A Guide to Taking Good Quality, High Resolution Stock photographs - Part I - All About Cameras"In this tutorial I'll explain tons of stuff. Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, focus, mega pixels, self-timers, etc.
(This is made for figure stock artists, but all sorts of stockers and beginning photographers can learn from this)
Full-view (zoom in) to see the actual tutorial. WARNING: Very large image! There's a somewhat printable version here: [link]
edit: Oh gods! I just signed on quick before I had to go to work and wasn't able to say thanks (no time), but now I'm back.. and wow!
And thanks to you for looking.
I have used camera symbols belonging to well... I've seen a few companies use them (Canon, Nikon, Pentax). But I've used them for educational purposes only. No copyright infringement is intended. Please oh please don't report me, I certainly don't make any money off of this.

Good tutorial,
well organized,
But I have a question,
I'm just experimenting with photography at the moment, and I'm using a Digital Camera,
No fancy SLR thingies. 8),
I'm trying to figure out if I'm really into it, whether my interest in photography will last , so yeah.
I was wondering if you knew whether I could change the Shutter speed & aperture on my camera ? It's a Sony DSC-W55/B
Thanks

Hi, I just stumbled upon your post. I don't think you can can those settings on such cameras. I have a similar one, and was told similar. Only the SLRs and SLR-likes (I guess) are able to change those settings.

wow, i know that there's a lot of technical errors made in stock photography, but i had never considered that some were just as simple as aperture and choosing certain camera modes (i admit i usually use auto shooting and i kept wondering why some of my photos came out better than others) thanks so much for taking the time to make this hon! i'll definitely print it out and put it in my photostudio if that's all right with you

Thank you very much.
This was very helpful with figuring out my new camera. I just like to photograph my kids but I like the fact that now I understand what all the different buttons and letters stand for and do.

Sorry! I just have to add my own comment to this - this has officially saved my butt! I was wondering why some of (*cough*many of*cough*) my latest costume pictures were horrible!
THANK YOU!
And, considering I just started a stock account for randomness, this helps exponentially there, too

Thanks for this tutorial. Although I am not looking at taking stock at this point, I am looking at getting into artistic photography for fun, your tutorial was very simple (I understood everything) and at the same time gave me the basics to go out and have a play with the camera without resorting to using auto Anyway, enough babble, thanks again for the tutorial.

Wow, this is so great! Thanks a lot. I've got a Canon PowerShot S60, which I think is good enough for me, as I'm still a beginner, but I broke it 30 minutes ago. Yes, I know.
. & I actually had started thinking of posting my photo manipulations of myself yesterday. Now, all I have is a nempty gallery, old crappy pictures on my hard & the tiney hope that the cam will be fixed.
Anyway, the tutorial is awesome, & it had helped me understand a lot of things about my -ehem- broken camera. This is really halpful. Totally a favourite. Maybe in the next tutprial, you could help us with the poses & lights & such.
Thanks a lot!
