Description
An easy step-by-step guide to making fursuit heads. This guide is pretty basic, complete with a generic canine character.Β
I won't give away the exact details of making fursuit parts, if I did I'd be out of the business! Good luck to any aspiring fursuit makers though!
Feel free to use this character to practice your first head with-but please do not steal/copy/alter anything from this tutorial.

Since it's for a canine, how will I make mine into a feline, usually a lioness?Β
This is a very useful tutorial.Β

I had a friend from school who was a Furry. he was also Gay, but I know that these two traits are not always together. (I know not all Furries are Gay andΒ not all Gays are Furries.)Β
I will not mention his name for the sake of his privacy, but will say that he was a good friend, (of a casual and NOT romantic variety.) I have not had any verbal or social contact with him since he graduated, but luckily we parted on good terms as I recall.Β

Is it necessary to create a foam base around your collar bone as shone in the picture?

It's a fine film often used for keeping food fresh, a thin plastic sheet material that "clings" to things. Hence the name cling film - at least that's what it's called in the UK, google if you're still unsure!

All of my tutorials are listed here:Β aurora-fabrications.deviantartβ¦
I personally purchase the majority of my fur fromΒ fursuitsupplies.com/ however there are multiple faux fur suppliers globally, I suggest getting swatches or tester pieces on any material before making an order from any site, mainly because pictures can vary greatly from what it looks like in real life.
