Description
A full colour + shading commission for of their white otter violinist Languid. I imagine he's playing a sad or melancholic song, something like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnGEbH… (skip the first few seconds, he's just talking there haha). It was really fun to work on this, because I wanted to keep Languid's anatomy very close to an actual European river otter, but still make him look believable with his violin. Also, I, uh, really tried to make the violin look realistic but I don't really know how one plays this instrument precisely so there may be some small inaccuracies, sorry about that! I did use many references for the violin and how it is held (Google is my hero). Hope you guys like it!Character is © to Inkshadow

You did a really good job in making an otter hold a violin! I like his small paws and wistful expression, and his feet are great too. I would imagine a picture of an all-white otter would be ... boring? But you just make it peacefil, and the violin helps a lot too. But, uh, it kind of looks like he's pressing the woodonto the strings instead of the string of the bow? And I'm pretty sure that won't work It might just be the perspective, but it looks slightly odd. Except for that, you did really good, and oh, violins are so difficult to draw! I've almost given up xD

A wild overdue comment appears! Sorry about that! D:
So, first off, I want to say that this commission turned out perfectly!
You were definitely the right person for the job, and I can't imagine how it could have been done any better.
I really admire how you stayed true to river otter anatomy, while keeping his pose believable. And you have such a way with expressions. c':
I mean, that applies to literally all of your artwork BUT STILL. Your skill with mustelids definitely shows! ;v;
He has the cutest little webbed feet and the positioning of his front paws and arms look great! The way you drew his tail really does make it look like it's helping steady himself. ouo
The violin itself is also impressive, I think you did a wonderful job with it. ;u;
Your linework also deserves a special mention because I love how you coloured it, the differing shades of blue really help give the impression that his fur sort of glitters. o3o
But yes, thankyou again so much!
You took my words and turned them into everything I could have hoped for aaaa-
Glad you had fun drawing him! : D

Eheh I tried my best to refrain from writing a ton through my notes so I could write it all here. xD;
And you're definitely very welcome!

Ermagersh I love the violin, and I love otters. For not playing the instrument yourself, you did a pretty good job with the proper position. Also, otters don't usually play stringed instruments, so I guess there's that too.
