Some people think the movie took place with the characters ages 17/18. I, personally, don't - they don't look it and they don't act it. However, I just watched a video on the Arena Spectacular where the story is slightly tweaked from what I can see in the clips with some of the interactions. The actors of Hiccup and Astrid are 18 and 19 respectively (and behave more like that age) so I wanted to try and draw the dock scene with the characters at that age...physically.

I don't know why...but I always make Astrid's shoulder pads with ludicrously sharp spikes. Blonde jokes, anyone?
