I would love to have an Assassin's Creed game set during the American Civil War. The Templars have taken control of the American south, and finally decided to create their own perfect society by succeeding from the Union. The Assassins, under Master Assassin Abraham Lincoln, must defeat the Confederate Templars.

I agree. I feel like the American Civil War would have great story and gameplay potential for the Assassin's Creed series. The Templars, wanting to maintain the stable but tyrannical status quo of the South, would side with the Confederates. Meanwhile the Assassins would side with the North to end slavery. I feel like Lincoln would definitely be a strong ally, but I don't think he himself would work well as an Assassin himself. I feel like he'd have a similar role to Lorenzo de Medici in AC2. Personally, I feel someone like Frederick Douglas would make a good Assassin mentor.

Ooh, you're totally right! If they were to do a game in the Civil War, they should have the main character come the border states like Kentucky or Tennessee. The main character goes north to fight with the Assassins while a friend or a relative goes south and joins the Templars. Eventually they have to face each other.

That's definitely an interesting idea. I've been toying around with a Civil War fanfic idea for a while now, actually. I have an ancestor who fought for the Union and I figured he'd make a good main character. I probably won't get around to it for a while though. I'm still really caught up in writing my 1812 fanfic.

That's cool. My ancestors got kicked out of Ireland and sent to America a generation before the Revolution. Later my ancestors fought for the South.

Well that's the family legend. On my father's side my ancestors were pirates, bandits, and rogues. My mom's side, gypsies, tramps, and thieves.

lol. Well, some of my family were. My dad and his distant ancestors were definitely some good people. But his grandfather and a few generations before weren't too good at all. I imagine that part of the tree would likely be Assassins, though some of them probably got kicked out of the Brotherhood. And my mom's side has a complete Templar ideology (with a few exceptions) with arrogance to match.
