Description

I honestly don't know when I drew this version of Matangodzilla. It was before all of the others, but after the initial idea sketch. I liked the idea of the Matango growth forming a kind of wedge/battering-ram shape at the front, but...meh. I don't know how much I like it now. I will probably finish it for posterity's sake...someday.

Not much to add, but I did remember something...I think.

I thing originally, the idea with this design was, weirdly, BREAD. I almost didn't want to adhere too closely to the Matango design, but instead, maybe treat the infection (no pun intended incoming) like yeast. The fungus is spreading BENEATH the skin, slowly expanding and trying to push its way out, and Godzilla's regenerative abilities are trying its best to keep it contained, not breaking the skin, eventually flushing it out of the system...but in doing so, sort of giving Godzilla this tumorous, almost Elephant-Man-like appearance. Maybe this could serve as the first signs of infection before it BURSTS out of Godzilla's skin and overtakes him? There's a grim thought.

Anyway. Probably will finish this eventually. Still ruminating.
