Sawwwwwweeeet. I finally found something I've been struggling with since middle school!

This totally pisses me off that I was close to figuring out 5 point perspective on my own. ><

very welle done
but with the fisheye, the curves are in reality, getting curlier (more hmm... like more crushed) when they approach the general circle, see ?
In the center of the picture, the things are bigger, so we must draw line from a bigger circle. Look at fisheye pics

omg thank you thank you thank you!!

The other day I did a google search looking for tutorials on how to do five point perspective. They all showed me the finished grid, but none of them explained how to draw the grid out by hand.

I spent an hour and a half trying to do it on my own and only got close to getting it right...I *almost* tried doing that with the compass but was too frustrated to keep working on it.

I'm so gonna go try this now.

I hace to do a perspective drawing for my CTE class, and I, being an idiot, chose 5-point perspective even though I had absolutely no idea what it was about. I will love you and cherish you for the rest of my life.

ILU. LOTS.

I've always wanted to use an effect in drawing such as this, even if I'm not all that skilled. But I've never really figured out what it's called.

Now I know. THANK YOU!

This is marvelous and very simple to follow. I remember reading about this in the Wizard magz and it's called 'curvilinear perspective'. This tutorial is by far easier than that of the magazine.

Great help. Thanks a lot.
I'm really curious how would look some airplane passing just under your point of view in that last picture of Whashington DC.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

awlaux In reply to sleeper83 [2008-10-15 21:20:10 +0000 UTC]

If the airplane is in the center of the picture (above the Washington monument), you would be looking at the top of the plane. If it's somewhere around the edge of the picture, you would see it more from the front, back, or side (depending on which direction it's going).

Good idea for a tutorial - this used to be one of the challenges in drafting class. I suspect it might increase the traffic on your site for a bit.
