Description
Male Rufous Hummingbird. I couldn't crop out the whole feeder in the shot so it's more edited than I'd like but thankfully the honeysuckle is out and in abundance so I don't need the feeder anymoreRelated content

This is simply amazing to get a shot like this!
Looks great!
(Unfortunately, my bigger birds and newly adopted cats are scaring off my hummingbirds,
so I'm having to deal with just pictures currently. )

Thank you and I'm sorry about the scarcity of the hummingbirds
I have an outdoor cat as well who is, scary, good at catching birds.
Is there a place you can move/place a feeder where the hummingbirds would be out of reach and have a place to fly to nearby to hide from the larger birds/cats?
I have a honeysuckle bush that works well year-round.

Well, I placed the food out at normal time (beginning of May), but they still seemed not to come.
I have thought about replacing the feeder, but I'm not sure if I can. I have an incredibly nice house, but most houses here are on a slant. I am unfortunately disabled, and partially paralyzed on the right side of my body. I can't walk up and down too well. (I live in a two story house, but we only use the upper portion of the house.) I've thought about trying to place the hummingbird feeder over the kitchen window, but I'm not sure if I'm able to do it. (The kitchen is on the opposite side of the house. I feed all animals in my open area car part.)
I love my 3 cats, and can't stand to think about them going hungry. My neighbor, who we have always referred to as the old man, is 85 years old, and he was placed in the nursing home a few months ago. (He is also a world class fiddle player, and holds the title still.) However, a few weeks ago, the cats started coming into my property, and his daughter and son in law stopped coming around to take care of the house and feed the cats. He only had one cat, but she had kittens several months ago, and so I believe I'm feeding momma cat and two of her children. These cats were always very scared previously, but started coming to my house, looking like skin and bones, and of course, I had to feed them, because I can't live with myself knowing an animal is hungry. (And I have previously hated cats, and I'm also allergic to cats.)
I am just trying to find a way to make all my animals happy! The birds typically have eaten 3.5 pounds of food in just a day or two, but my feeder has still been full for a few weeks. However, as I was pulling into the car port today, I noticed two birds eating the feed from the ground. I'm thinking maybe they've started to get use to it. I LOVE birds, which is why I choose to feed them. I previously have kept birds inside my house. I am only looking for a way to make all my beautiful animals happy!
I'm just trying to find a way I can best arrange it, so all animals will be fed and get along with each other. And honestly, those cats wouldn't catch birds. While they are outdoor cats, the old man always fed them. They only eat cat food. I'm just wondering why my birds are hesitant now just over a few cats being in my car port.

Thank you so much ^^ I hope to catch a few of this guy by the honeysuckle, if the aphids don't kill all the flowers first :/
