I think I understand....I'll let you know when I try it out!!!! I hope I can do it because I have a bunch of ideas for use of it. Problem: Internet is not on my system, at night when I'm working on something the internet system is in my daughter's room where she sleeps and I can't get to these resources until whenever I wake up. By then I've lost interest in what I was doing.

I was just fooling around with 'rays of light' and blurring them for a little project
a few days ago and then I see this tutorial, cool. Much the same technique.
Digital manips are just a big experiment (experiments are often controlled towards an expected result).
It seems PSP and PS are very similar,
any of the tutorials for either one are basically interchangeable.
BTW, nice works in your gallery, the tutorial on starting a manipulation is good
(I liked it, but then I am easily amused at times)

they sure are a big experiment.
psp and ps are simular, but psp is easier to use and not so acurate, i think, i just played with the natural brushes in ps ( and i really don't know photoshop lol, it took me months to find that smudgebrush back lol ) and with brushes in psp, and in psp the hair i made looks awefull and one try with ps and i had really great hair. the colors are also different, with ps it looks like they are very smooth, like cutting into soft butter, and psp its seems more hard butter , i know strange comparisation but that's what i thought when i first opent ps and tried the colors
but maybe that s just my imagination

thank you, its a bit of basic tut , i think, adding details and all that is more a personal thing to do and so hard to explain

I see you like Mr. Poe's and Mr. Dali's works
Good taste
It has been years since I experienced 20 degree weather,
cannot say that I miss it

yeah i like poe very much, always did since i read " the black cat" when i was 14
and Dali , i like his joy de vivre, his extravagance, his color use, and he's deep meanings in all his paintings

is it colder or warmer where you life?

I have never worked with psp, sounds like I will stick with ps, since it has taken me a while to gain the small amount of knowledge I have. Others swear by psp, and there those that feel the same regarding ps *that would be me*
Actually, I have committed myself to doing all the tutorials downloaded to my machine (a few hundred). In the end I might know what I am doing.
Your work is nice, I like the soft tones used, most of the pieces are peaceful and comfortable and you have a good eye for the blending of the elements you incorporate in each.
Thanks for the reply, I am slowly building some relations here at dA (I am still a newbie and learning) and would not mind staying in touch, if you are all right with that

Take care,

My G5's HD went bad, it had been giving me fits since the middle of January, I finally took it to the Apple store and they replaced it under warranty. It's nice to quickly surf through the web again. I started to answer your other comment, went to look at your dA site again and got lost along the way checking links from yours. You know, stock accounts, artists, etc. I thought the page was open where I commented back, well, I lost it.

Poe and Dali are extremely fascinating, they both pushed the edge of reality. Poe in his portrayal of humans when they are exhibiting their characteristic traits either in their interpersonal relationships and especially in our fears. And Dali, I am still not sure if there are words for his work. Maybe this: bold, straight-forward, arrogant (<--you can be when you are a master) as well as the psychologist that pushes our minds to the brink of reality in our perceptions of the world and then gives you a kick in the butt to plummit you over the edge (and don't forget, you liked it).

I would like to enter your moon contest, except I have way too much to do for all my classes, the last of the 2nd midterm finals are happening, a number of projects are due and I have to catch up my portfolio by 9:30am tomorrow morning before drawing class starts. Only a few weeks until final term papers are due and final exams are only 4 weeks away. I am not complaining, just busy. Also, I am a bit hesitant on entering contests at dA since my digital manipulation skills are still in its infancy. One of these days I will.

It is definitely warmer here, has your winter been longer this year than usual? I live in paradise, it never really gets 'cold' here. I grew up where the winters ranged from 32F (0 Celsius) to -35F and plenty of snow (that would be in Wisconsin, USA). It has been cool for here and cool for this time of the year, I love it.

All software takes so long to learn so it is understandable when someone is a little leary of learning a new one. One thing though is when you know a few others it becomes a little easier to learn more. Photoshop and Illustrator on the surface seem to be very similar. The truth is they are two completely different animals. Then there are the 3D softwares, these are as challenging as the others and completely different. I feel if a person can get skilled in these three areas then the learning of almost any graphics software afterwards will not be as difficult. One day I will start with the 3D's (like next year).

I did download a few pictures from your stock account. I keep a large number of stock pix on hand that can be easily accessed instead of spending a lot of time searching for one when taht spark of inspiration hits me.
I always ramble a lot

Oh yeah, Aristotle had said something ;like this, 'A life unexamined is a life not worth living', well, it goes very much like that

i think it depends on whitch program you started with if you start with photoshop , i think you will stay with it because of the skills you gained, and it takes a lot of courage to learn another program as good and the other way arround, i know i hesitate to use ps because i have to begin from 0 and i don't have the time anymore to put as much time in it as i did with psp
the ideal program would be the looks of psp because i know that one, and the features of ps and psp in it

thank you it still can be better because i want to make things and i haven't got some skills for it, so slowly i'm getting where i want i guess

thats fine with me if i find time, i always ramble a bit

i didn't take it as rude lol, found it a refressing comment straight at the bottom of it . but i noticed that you are , a straight to the point person, no needless comments or stuff like that

its indeed very simple and for beginners also easy if they know the program a bit such things i often find when i look for something else lol. its a basic , from this point they can discover new things to do with it

your english is good
