Description Part one of the Gamzee tutorial! The other parts will be up as soon as I can finish them.

Part 2: [link]
Part 3: [link]

Backstitch tutorial: [link]

Hidden stitch tutorial: [link]

I tried to make it easy to understand for people who don't sew much, but I'm not sure if I succeeded. I think experienced sewers can tell what to do just from the simple pattern so I don't know what level of detail I should go into. Feel free to ask questions!

Just wanted to mension that the hidden stitch is also known as the ladder stitch. (The hidden stitch tutorial in the description would not load properly for me, so I had to find one for a ladder stitch)

Other than that, thank you for uploading your patterns and this tutorial! =3 Working on my first troll right now.

These look REALLY awesome, but I dunno how to make the face. Do you need a special type of printer?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

b00ts In reply to ChinasPandaOfJustice [2014-09-27 23:49:40 +0000 UTC]

nah! just a special type of paper, which i included in the materials list.

Thank you for this! Do you think I could make a John and Dave using this as a base?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

b00ts In reply to Jessykosis [2014-09-04 21:47:33 +0000 UTC]

of course! i have a dave face, hair, and (white suit dave)'s clothing in my tutorial/patterns gallery. john shouldn't be hard to do either.

What difficulty would you consider this project? (beginner, intermediate, advanced)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

b00ts In reply to NinjaGomp [2014-07-14 17:12:15 +0000 UTC]

intermediate? i'm sure someone with no sewing experience could do it but it'll be a little challenging.

NinjaGomp In reply to b00ts [2014-07-14 18:09:05 +0000 UTC]

That really helps. I have a little bit of sewing experience, and with the help of some of my friends I'm sure I can figure this out. I have one more question, in your opinion do you think that this is easier to do by hand, or with a sewing machine?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

b00ts In reply to NinjaGomp [2014-07-14 18:14:31 +0000 UTC]

by hand! unless you blow up the pattern in photoshop it's really hard to sew on a machine.

This really helped! Thanks so much! (I'm planning to use this base to make Vriska)

Hey, I know it's been over a a year and such, but about how much did it cost you for all the materials?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

MariusOfTheSea In reply to Kendra1212 [2013-12-09 07:28:52 +0000 UTC]

A pack or iron on transfer paper generally runs $9 at walmart, and fleece generally $2/yard or so, and you dont ahve to buy full yards.

i'm sorry, i don't know! i wish i could help but i tend to buy in larger quantities than i need for single projects anyway :\

*Weird question* Where can you find the faces? I have no idea where to look. I plan on making a Sollux, Gamzee, and Karkat for me and my two friends.

b00ts In reply to CoccineousCephalopod [2012-11-16 21:59:24 +0000 UTC]

i don't, i vector them in photoshop. i have a few i've uploaded in my scraps but i don't have sollux or karkat

CoccineousCephalopod In reply to b00ts [2012-11-18 01:40:46 +0000 UTC]

Do they need to be a certain dimension?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

b00ts In reply to CoccineousCephalopod [2012-11-18 02:27:37 +0000 UTC]

well, i'd make them fairly large so it's good quality no matter what. they're generally around 1" wide but it depends on what you think looks best in the end!

I dont mean to fuss, this is a fantastic tutorial and everything, but when i try to print out the pieces they all come out in different size proportions. It might just be my computer or something, but if not could you maybe help me with that if its possible pwease?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

b00ts In reply to scorch89 [2012-07-31 02:38:32 +0000 UTC]

you mean like, the clothes pattern isn't the same size as the main pattern or the individual pieces come out differently? when you go to print them out, do you uncheck the boxes that fit it to the paper? do you make sure it's at 100%?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

scorch89 In reply to b00ts [2012-07-31 04:09:21 +0000 UTC]

hm, there doesnt seem to be a fit to paper option. i got it to print okay once, i have no idea how though. thanks for the help though :3
