well here it is! a lot more work then you might think but it is true that since the illustrations are simple i'll be able to pump a Dave comic out pretty quickly.a thanks goes to Dragontrap for making a pretty coherent guide on making interactive comics (you can find the guide here. )
there is a link to the website at the end but you can also find it here anyways.
so yeah, chapter 2 is on the way, should see it next month. i'd rather not stuff journal entries into anyones mailbox about progress or meaningless stuff so if you want to follow dave, check out the site. but don't worry i'll still be posting the comics here.

ok i've finally got it how i like it. i wish i could just change the resolution of the final piece but flash isn't nearly so flexible.

i honestly thought about putting these 'features' in but i somehow talked myself into thinking they would harm the story some how... they will be implemented into future chapters.

This Dave fellow is amazing, going to such great lengths to get to what's shiney and round! And that anti-Dave is most dastardly and cunning, standing in poor Dave's path.
You've really captured conflict in it's most basic form

thank you! that was what i hoped to achieve with this. people can read as much into it as they want, and i will try to compensate for that level of depth, but in the end i am still trying to tell a story.

Very original tale... the progress of Dave's story is very interesting. I like the way you begin from nothing and develop the story with Dave's existential questions.

i keep trying to understand existentialism, and keep failing. i am more familiar with 'solipsism' as it is a bit similar and i feel, perfectly describes dave. would you mind explaining what you know of existentialism and why you draw a connection to Dave? it would help me a lot to know, as people are going to use that word more and more to describe Dave

No problem. I can't help but support Dave in his vain materialistic ways.
Though it wasn't just the chapter that convinced me, it was the character list on the website and the secret page and the project as a whole that convinced me.
Really I just love the disembodied 'we' that is the narrator, the way they speak adds just a hint of humor to every page of this Solipistic world of Dave.
The last page had me rolling in laughter too. That certainly helped my decision.

Lovely work! Next chapter, could you please elaborate on Anti-Dave's purpose and personality? Although he's brought into Dave's world to create an equilibrium (being the counterpart to Dave in general, preventing Dave from achieving his desires), it would be good to have him interact with Dave to develop a mutual comprehension of each other and even flesh out his agenda and character.

what's interesting is i have Dave sympathizers and anti-Dave sympathizers. i think we could learn about what kind of person you are based on that. neither is good nor evil, but how you interpret them certainly says something!
