Description

I changed some things about the Dinky Drinks. Most of these are minor, however, I did add sexual dimorphism (I think I spelled that right) into the species.

Stylistic Changes:

- Before there wasn't much of a visual distinction between the dinky's open area and their glass body. I hope that by changing the line art's color around the open area, it will be more clear as to where it is.
- If the color of your dinky's liquid composition is a dark color, making the facial features hard to see, then you can change the line art's color in the face to a white color, or you can change it to any shade of gray. Changing the color to anything that isn't a shade of gray is a bit of a stretch if you want your dinky to have no mutations. If you're fine with it, though, go ahead.
NOTE: Not changing the color of the line art but changing the color of the inside of the eye is ALWAYS a mutation, even if the color inside the eye is a shade of gray.

Sexual Dimorphism Explained:

Back when the Dinky Drinks were first created and out in the wild, all dinkies looked like the female with the same body type and downward pointing tail. Over time, it became normal for the females to choose a male to help fertilize the eggs. As such, the females would like to choose the best male, or at least a male that meets their standards. What are their standards then?

Female dinkies value uniqueness when choosing mate. The male that is the most unlike the others (in an interesting way) is more likely to attract female attention. This could be both a mental uniqueness or a physical one.

Well, it just so happened one day that there was a male with a mutated tail that pointed upwards. While it proved no evolutionary advantage to have an upwards pointing tail rather than a downward pointing one, the fact that it was so different from anyone else's tail meant that this male was chosen by a lot of females for mating. Needless to say, any male with an upwards pointing tail from that point onward was a top choice for females, and eventually, all males had upward pointing tails.

The body for the males looks slightly different from the females for the same reason as the tail. The males who look different (in an interesting way) were more likely to look stronger or were more likely to be taller. While the average male today looks stronger than the average female, both genders actually have the same strength on average. The difference in appearance is basically just for show to make the male "stand out".

Behavioral differences between males and females are as follows (generally speaking):

Both genders are known for their calmness and intelligence. However, sometimes dinkies are described as "indifferent". This is actually a personality trait more common in males. In the wild, dinkies who make known what they want are seen as "aggressive" (even if this isn't necessarily the case). Those who are too aggressive are kicked out of a dinky group eventually. However, since females choose males for mating, the female can often mate with a male before potentially being kicked out of a dinky group. Males who make known what they want are usually not picked for mating and don't reproduce at all as a result (and also may potentially get kicked out of a dinky group). Thus, the personality trait among females shows up more often than it does in males.

As a result, males are more likely to be a-okay with anything and have no strong preferences. Females may have a few preferences for things, but they are not extremely opinionated. Their behavior is actually quite reasonable, despite what some dinky groups may believe.

The reason why dinky groups care so much about people being "aggressive" or "opinionated" is because dinkies are very conflict averse. They do not like it when anyone, intentionally or not, disrupts the peace even just a little bit. Sometimes dinkies judge someone too soon as being one of these aggressive or opinionated people, when really they're just a reasonable person. That is not to say that there haven't been overly opinionated dinkies in dinky groups before, but it is rather uncommon.

And that is all. If you have any questions, let me know. Have a nice day (:
