Description
Ok, let's go surrealWell, the concept is that only feminine grace can save us from sinking and stay abandoned forever. but i'd like to know what this image actually suggests to you all.
And now, let's go tech
The building is an abandoned plant in Turin. I think that, decades ago, it was involved in activities like repairing ship, airplane and train engines. In the near future it will be restructured (as the whole area around) to host a multimedia library, or something like that. The building image is actually a panorama pic, made of 16 pictures (4x4): the goal here was to get a very detailed super-resolution image (the original file is about 28 megapixels), rather than a regular panorama pic. I scaled it down to about 1/2 its size (hence 1/4 its resolution) to work with it without putting my old pc to its knees
The five dolphins (yes, there are five in the pic) come from shots i took at the Aquarium of Genova. One more pic from that series was used to texturize the image and get bluish shadowed colours.
I also used, for the same purpose, two or three more pics (sky, metallic surfaces, air sparkling in water) I took time ago.
The words come from a couple of kitchen recipes of my grandmother's.
But not all the images which take part to this pic come from my archive: so, last, but absolutely not least, the credits. Thanks to:

kurtisblow (from SXC ) for the wrecked ship [link]

Update - April 27, 2006
has uploaded a poetry piece called Still deliverance , inspired to this pic. I am pleased and proud, and just can't find the words to thank her. Please take the time to read it, I found that it expresses my thoughts even better than my pic does and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Very funky. Like the water tank feel of the piece. Feels like your at some aquarium that has taken in some new residents they hadn't counted on. Cool.

I love the overall feel to it and how it seems like it's telling multiple stories with one picture. Only critique I have is, in my OPINION the writing from the recipe is a bit much it's kind of distracting but other then that I think it's outstanding. Good job man!

thank you will, as always i'm very pleased that you like a work of mine.
yes maybe i did go a bit too much tech and the recipes have nothing to do with the meaning i gave to the pic
but the pic would be the same if those piece of old paper were love letters... more, when you use someone else's stock to compose a photomanipulation, you don't know anything about the feelings behind it, if any...

hmmm i didn't considered things from this point of view. well, maybe you're right, i could have tried smaller characters papers here and there, but it simply did not came to my mind - i was searching a way to texturize a bit more the pic, and it seemed to me that handwritten words could also add some "far memory" feeling.
however there's a bit of the picture i'm not fully satisfied with, and it's the light beams between the hand of the girl and the man. it looked fine while working at full resolution, but when i scaled down the image it got a weird aspect, light became more "thick" and part of its transparency effect was lost. i didn't noticed it until i saw the thumbnail...

oi vey, I was referring to the writing period not neccessarily what it was about. It just seems, once again to me this is my OPINION haha, that the writing takes your focus away from whats going on. If there was less of it, or it was only in a few places around the pictures I think it would have worked better as it is the writing everywhere just adds to much to the picture. Once again this is just my opinion and that is really the only flaw I could find with the picture. Other then that I loved it.
