Description A well-worn F/A-18F of the Republic of Emmerian Navy flown by Cdr. Freddie "Avalanche" Durand, commander of Strike Fighter Squadron 2, Carrier Air Wing 2.

While the Republic of Emmeria Air Force reflected indigenous traditions with regards to aircraft marking and tactics, Emmerian Naval Aviation took more to the traditions of its Osean and Britannian counterparts, despite the Emmerian Navy's lack of "big" carriers like the Osean Hubert class.  As such, Emmerian carrier air wings consisted of a mix of Emmerian and Osean aircraft, including a squadron each of F/A-18F and F/A-18E Super Hornets to complement Emmerian Rafales.

After the Estovakian invasion of Emmeria and subsequent annihilation of the Emmerian Navy's 1st Fleet, CVW-2 found itself immensely busy, as being the only source of carrier aviation during the amphibious withdrawal from the mainland to Khesed, it was responsible for safeguarding both the 2nd Fleet and the ships carrying evacuating Emmerian Army troops until in range of Emmerian land-based aircraft.

While the Emmerians regrouped in Khesed, CVW-2 had the opportunity for a bit of a breather, as the Air Force, including the soon to be famous 28th Fighter Squadron, took on the lion's share of close air support and combat air patrol tasks.  However the vacation ended as the Emmerians resumed their counter-push, beginning with the offensive to retake Khesed.  CVW-2 and VFA-2 specifically found themselves working closely with Garuda team, providing close air support for much of the Emmerian counteroffensive from the landings at Ortara onwards.

By the time the Emmerians were back on the mainland, VFA-2, being one of the more experienced units in the Emmerian order of battle, found itself being called to the tip of the spear more and more frequently, even as the fighting moved inland.

The war ended with VFA-2 being one of the units participating in the strike on the Estovakian Chandelier weapons platform in the Razgriz Straits, leaving the squadron with a noteworthy combat record.

Avalanche's aircraft is shown here as seen near the end of the war, well-weathered from near constant use and the daily abuses of carrier aviation.  The aircraft is configured for anti-armor missions with a quartet of AGM-65G Mavericks, 2 AIM-120D AMRAAMs, 2 AIM-9X Sidewinders, and an ASQ-228 ATFLIR pod.  It also wears an impressive tally of mission marks, including 6 kills on Estovakian aircraft.

Thought you missing the Tailcode, it's splendid with that own squadron logo instead the Garuda's ones!

There are a number of reasons why I omitted it.  We never see it in game, "GM" is a) using Air Force tail code conventions which would be wrong on a Navy bird and b) Garuda's code, which makes no sense since they're not part of the same carrier air wing OR from the same base.  Also, there is the possibility that the tail code is on the inner side of the fins.

The Super Hornet in AC6 is quite awesome in the campaign mode, especially when I roll Mavericks and find a bunch of Black Eagles to go beat up on.

That helmet was a pain in the butt to get right.

(Well okay not really in the grand scheme of things but still)
