Description
paperdoll i was talking about, she was in my notebook. :3see detail here: [link]
someday I hope to watercolor them all... but I think I prefer to reprint them on water color paper and then re-ink and paint them.
These aren't 100% accurate. Obviously the doll herself's underwear isn't accurate... but because i wanted some of the dresses to be more revealing than others I had to fudge her drawers. X3 most of the images are based on actual clothes that I've researched... the time period is mostly 1870-1890. There's one or two that are more influenced by 1900-1920. The dresses are designs for six different characters in a story I wrote.

heheh~ one of the characters is disguised as a nun at one point. It was hard to find reference for that! There was a book released recently of different designs of nun habits over the years and I'm really tempted to get it.

OK! Get a bunch of reference material and draw every detail you see. don't worry about it being the correct size or the right proportions, these are just practice. Do that for about 20 minutes or so each day, never the same ones. When you go to design those details will be in your mind already and you can use what you remember drawing to detail your own stuff. :3

Do it while watching a movie you like? XD That's what I do. X3 I do it often when I brainstorm about writing ideas... and I used to do it during class. XD

Or maybe I should fall from stairs. Maybe then something in my empty space in my head will explode and then work.
