Description
4th place..grr
thank goodness I finished this in time! I started on this ages ago, but thanks to schoolwork and riding, I didn't find the time to finish it until today - only 1 day before the deadline...oops!
I really loved the challenge of painting this! I had to trace the Eiffel Tower though because it's so complicated!

Story:
Being in Pairs was having a rejuvenating effect on head rider, Amy Border and the team. Nothing seemed as important as it should be in this beautiful city of love. Where before the team might be feeling stressed about transporting their resident dressage pony, Dreamer, to a foreign city, now they only felt excitement. The feeling was contagious. The competitors seemed to have a feeling of happy anticipation and where the stables should feel slightly chaotic - there was just the smell and sounds of serene horses. The staff at the stables were doing all they could to make the horses and ponies feel at home and it was definitely working!
By the time Amy was ready to ride into the arena, it was getting dark. The sun was setting, casting a beautiful array if colours up into the sky, hiding behind the spectacular sight of the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower itself was dominating the scene. Casting a giant shadow into the dressage arena and commanding all attention to it as the sun's setting rays bounced of it's gleaming gold surface.
Seeing this glorious sight, Amy was filled with a sense of elation and wanted nothing better than to show the judges and the audience just how special she and her pony are. She didn't have to wait long.
After starting their test with an elegant collected trot, the pair powered up into a stunning extended canter across the diagonal of the grass arena. Amy felt her pony power up through his hind legs and flex his neck at the topline. She couldn't help beaming and she felt certain that Dreamer was enjoying the ride just as much as she was. The team were as well. Standing on the sidelines, they cheered and wooped as the pair cantered past beautifully.
The other competitors stopped their warm up to take note of the pair too. They had been the subject of many jokes around the barn. They didn't think a lanky eventer/dressage rider and her little Fjord pony would stand a chance against the large, stunning warmbloods seen around the stables. But seeing the pair ride their test - they were sure that they would have to eat their words!
