okay so i know lola and aoife aren't in this, but i didnt know how to incorporate them properly, so this is basically just amy and dreamer...oops ah well the story fits with it
i love the rider though!

Story:
Aoife was determined to stay with Lola throughout her box rest. It was like the old days; Aoife would sit in the stable with her horse with a carrot always in front of her. This time, however, Aoife had taken up sketching Lola whenever she could. Her sketchbook was full of drawings of the mare, whether she was drawing the present or doodling the future. She just hoped the daydreams came true.

When the time came for Aoife to walk Lola around in hand, she couldn’t wait! They had been cooped up in the stable for a week and it was time for Lola to feel the sun on her back once again. Aoife took her out to the field they first visited and like before, allowed her to graze quietly in front of her for a while. After about half an hour of this, Amy walked past with Dreamer, on their way to a training session. Aoife couldn’t help but smile at the pair. Amy always looked happy when she was with her Fjord gelding and Dreamer was the sweetest pony ever, not to mention Lola’s best horse friend! At the sight of them, Aoife called them over to say hi.

“Hey Aoife! So you were finally allowed out of that stable then?” Amy said.

“Yep! After box rest and ice boots for a week it’s finally time to start the light exercise! How are you and Dreamer?”

“Oh that’s good then! Great thanks, we’re just going up to the outdoor arena. I have decided to try natural dressage!”

“Ooh that sounds so cool! Mind if me and Lola come and watch?”

“Not at all!”

So Aoife went to watch her best friend try and ride her cheeky little gelding tackless. She was intrigued as to how it would go. She knew that Amy and Dreamer had a great bond, but she wasn’t prepared for the result. Dreamer was perfect! He seemed to love being ridden with no tack and tried his hardest for Amy, who couldn’t stop smiling.

“I wasn’t expecting this!” Amy giggled as she and Dreamer cantered a perfect circle. “Maybe we should do this more often! I just wish there were competitions where you could ride tackless.”

“Yeah that would be really cool! Dreamer really seems to like it. You know what; I think Lola would prefer that too. When we can start backing her again, I think I might give tackless a shot. What do you think?” Aoife mused.

Trotting over, Amy said, “I think that would be a good idea! Lola isn’t young, so it wouldn’t hurt her back or anything, and it might not scare her as much as putting all the tack on her did. Ask Georgia though. She might disagree. It would be super fun though! Me and you could train together and if we both got really good, we could do some demonstrations together and if Lola turns out to be a good jumper, you could do those bareback challenges!”

“Oh my gosh that would be amazing!” Aoife said, excited. “Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves though. All we have seen her do is gallop around like a mad thing! Plus Georgia might say it’s a bad idea or something.”

“Well go ask her now.” Amy said, pointing over Aoife’s shoulder to the woman making her way to the arena.

“Georgie!!” Amy nearly shouted, her voice betraying how excited she was. “Look at me and Dreamer!” She said, pushing Dreamer into the most stunning extended trot before cantering another two perfect circles.

“Wow Amy, looks like you two have finally managed to ride a circle!” Georgie said sarcastically. “No, seriously you two look really good. You should think about training tackless more often.”

“I was wondering whether I could train Lola tackless too?” Aoife ventured.

Georgia looked at Aoife and her horse with a calculating look before saying, “I don’t see why not! It might actually do her some good. It’s definitely more natural in any case. Better than piling all of our training aids on her.”

The smile on Aoife’s face threatened to split her in two! “That would be amazing! I can’t wait to try and ride her again!”

“I know, just don’t get too ahead of yourself, ok? I don’t want you to be really disappointed if it doesn’t work out.” Georgia said in a motherly voice.

It didn’t faze Aoife. She was already thinking about how nice it would be to be able to ride her mare. If they could master tackless riding, they could do some demonstrations like Amy said, and show people that you don’t need a lot of tack to ride and train a wild horse.

These few weeks of box rest wouldn’t be a waste of time after all. They would be spent by Aoife planning out how best to ride Lola and reduce her stress. She was determined that it would always be a good time for her and Lola. No more time would be spent with Lola hiding within herself again.
