ooh I love this! I saw the stock and just had to paint it traced again though trololol but my art is to relax me, and not having to stress about lines is nice right now.
Tried the new style of shading again. It's so much quicker and I like the results, but not all of my work will be like this - probably only training images like this one.

Story:
After a lot of discussion at Riverwood Equestrian, it had been decided that Aoife was to take over the ride on the talented stallion Royal Beauty. Beau had a lot to offer and it was obvious that he would be the perfect first professional competitive mount for Aoife, since Amy - who knew the stallion better than anyone - was right on hand to help train them. Aoife was over the moon at the news! Despite Beau being a massive 17hh and her only being 5ft1, she was determined to make the most out of this opportunity.
Whilst Amy was giving up the ride on Beau, she wasn't having one less horse to ride. Far from it! Amy was busy training up Sandy for eventing, Gem for dressage and still competing Dreamer on top of having two cheeky Kaimanawa's to ride - she was far from being bored! Still, it wasn't easy for her to see somebody else up on her beloved stallion, even though she knew that Aoife was perfect for him.

It was the first time that Aoife was going to be riding Beau, and Amy was already waiting in the arena for them, setting up the jumps with Georgia.
"Come in Aoife, we're just setting you up a small course to start with!" Amy called across the arena enthusiastically.
"Ok, great!" Aoife called back, leading the huge stallion into the arena. "I still can't get over how big he is! Are you sure I should be riding him?" Aoife said nervously, fidgeting with Beau's tack. In response, Beau snorted and nudged his new rider with his velvety nose, whilst Amy and Georgia laughed, saying,
"You two are going to be perfect! Stop stressing and just hop on!"
When Aoife was finally mounted and warmed up, a small course of jumps (set at 3ft) had been set up for the pair.
"We'll just start small and then work our way up. Just try and get used to his way of going and try and ride the course technically by getting all of the turns and lines right." Georgia instructed.
"I'm sure you will do fine, just remember that he is very quick off the leg and has a sensitive mouth, so just try and ride him quietly and let him do his thing," Amy advised.
The first time they went around, Aoife was still getting used to his large stride and expressive jump, so it wasn't too smooth, but by the third time round it looked perfect!
"Right, time to put them up a bit I think! What do you want to try him at Aoife?" Georgia asked.
"Ummm, I'm not sure...maybe 1m20?" Aoife said.
When the jumps were set a bit higher, the stallion still seemed unimpressed with them and jumped them all too high. Aoife didn't seem to mind and just laughed it off. "Maybe we could just try a bigger oxer? Maybe 1m40?" Aoife said.
"Yup sure, I'll just put it up now," Amy said. "He's jumped bigger oxers before, about 1m50 and has free jumped a bit higher, 1m60 I think, so he should clear this fine. Ride it like it's still smaller and he'll soar over!" Amy said, smiling.
She was absolutely right. In fact, Beau still seemed like he wanted a bigger challenge! He floated over the jump, leaving feet to spare! He obviously liked his new rider, and it was evident that Aoife loved him too!
Their first ride together couldn't have gone better!
