We didn't have to morph to travel to the beaver dam. It was only about an eight-minute jog up the valley. The pond looked promising. In my backyard, it would have made a fantastic swimming pool. But I knew we needed more water. I just didn't know how much.
Ax said. < I believe that is what it will take to inundate the valley.>
Marco batted his eyelashes. "Ax, you just make me all tingly when you talk all smart-like."

...I love Ax's Encarta Dictionary vocabulary.
More than that, I love Marco's snappy responses to it.
And most of all, I love imagining the look on Ax's face when Marco makes those snappy responses.

Ax's tail is supposed to just be arched over his shoulder... it's not supposed to be aimed at Marco... but if it were, that would be funny. So you can imagine that's what he's doing if you want to.

I know Marco is supposed to have a shorter haircut post-book-10. Truth: I like Marco's hair longer. My excuse: living with Hork-Bajir using their wrist blades as scissors makes for some really long and shaggy haircuts.
