Description
This is Sandra, one of the existing Changed, after her final transformationShe's turning into a Weaver, a spider like creature that uses the webs to catch and eat nightmares (yes, inspired on the dreamcatcher)
I know she doesn't follow the anatomy of a real spider, but that was on purpose. She doesn't have a exoskeleton (an insect/arachnid/etc that big would collapse under their own weight otherwise), but skin covered in fine fur
I drew this sequence before the shop was up an running. That's why her transformation only has 4 stages instead of 5 Xp

I love jumping spiders because of those huge eyes. They're just absolutely fascinating *and they only jump forward, so if you look at them from the side you should be ok*

I've heard about spider bites but I never met someone who was actually bit. It's just unheard of around here =/

I don't think our jumping spiders like to be indoors very much. We get a lot of weaving ones though

There used to be a roleplay where she was involved, but the game died years ago

GORGEOUS!
Can she think normally and talk in this form?
Love her color and patterns...
Faved for when I try a Dridder/Weaver/Arachne...

She probably can't speak, since she lacks the proper mouth parts to produce sound (though I guess she can make a variety of clicking noises with the mouth pieces)
As for thinking... no idea how much the change affected her there. Sorry

Hmm. Makes sense.
Maybe the Weavers are telepathic? THAT might work.
They may find it difficult to sync to the human brain wavelength, and would need the human's trust somehow...
Then again, if you meet a giant, human-scale spider who DOESN'T move to wrap you up or eat you, there might be a chance for human curiosity to come out...
Ah, well...it's fun to think about anyhoo!

Birvan In reply to laughingvulcan [2014-04-17 22:51:00 +0000 UTC]
Hm, I don't think they'd be pure telepaths
Since they do eat nightmares they're likely dream travelers and because the humans are asleep it's easier to synchronize and then communicate. But awake, with so much sensory input going on...
This type of conversations are great. They make you think about the characters in ways you never considered ^^

Seeing as she feeds on nightmares, would she be considered benevolent? Or is she the one causing the nightmares?

Benevolent, except by people that are arachnophobic

If all spiders looked that awesome, we would have a lot less arachnophobics.

Crossing into a different world

Gimiglider In reply to Birvan [2011-10-26 07:44:50 +0000 UTC]
how does she cross into a different world and how does it trigger the transformation? Also, does she still control her own body and can she change back (although i'm presuming she can't)?
π: 0 β©: 1
Birvan In reply to Gimiglider [2011-10-26 11:42:51 +0000 UTC]
It's the crossing itself that triggered it. And no, she's stuck like that

Gimiglider In reply to Birvan [2011-10-26 15:45:29 +0000 UTC]
ok. But, is shee still in control of her own body?
