Description
A matter I never understood.....With all the IIC Mechs the Clans designed, including the Founder's Orion IIC, why was there never an Atlas IIC?
Seriously. Kerensky took a bunch of Atlas, all the SLDF Royal's Atlas IIs, and later we see the RotS with their Atlas IIIs.
But never a IIC. This mech was DESIGNED by Aleksandr Kerensky. Piloted by his best friend, closest supporter and second in command, General DeChavilier, who tore down the Usurper's defenses to allow Kerensky to enter the Palace.
And yet..... no IIC to immortalize the pinnacle of SLDF might.
So I designed one. And then I was contacted to create a FedCom Civil War/Jihad tech era version. Thus the IIC-2 Designation. As no Clan Design would include a second cockpit.
This version mounts a Clan Tech Gauss Rifle, 2 C-ERLLasers and 2 ERMLasers as it's primary arsenal, but since it's designed for standing of and directing the troops through its sensor suite and C3i Network, it also packs an LRM10 in the CT, and 2 ATM6 in the LT box Launcher.
The version seen here is not a command version, but has the second cockpit replaced with an Angel ECM suite, the ERLLasers for ERPPC and the Missile Launchers have been swapped out for 3 Streak 6 Packs.

Now that’s a Atlas! Also why has no one made a Atlas IIC... Probably something to do with honour.

If they did an Atlas IIC in MWO, I'd spend $20 for a mechpack

You're welcome. You are the same Bishop Steiner who created the Kaiju, the personal ride of King Hopper Morrison of Morrison's Extractors, yes?

You're not the only one to wonder about that and correct it:

Interesting, though as an Omni, it's not technically a IIC model.

HAHA! Just saw the "Toad Under Foot" - nice detail work. You want him to collab the color on this, right? Cause he may need to re-sketch it to clean up the lines.

sure. Would it be better for it to be light line work, or what?

I think dark lines would be best, just make sure that any of the more wild lines are crisped up a bit so he won't mistake them for anything.

well, finally back home, all things being equal will get back to work on it tomorrow. Of course...having said that, now we'll have a magnitude 8 earthquake or something......

If it makes you feel better, they start production on it in limited numbers, some time in the 3060's, with a weapons downgraded version being sold to IS commands. I can't decide which clan ally would fight at trial for this design.... the Diamond Sharks maybe?

You actually make a good point here. The Atlas IIs were very desired among the Clan ranks, and although there are Atlases C, there is no total redesign on the Clanners' behalf. Most strange given that with the AS7's resilience it would make for a perfect dueling unit. You can say they respect the design so much they wouldn't dare to do such thing, but that simply sounds stupid, imo.
Anyway, I'd say you filled in the gap in an awesome manner.
