Description

Set a few years after the Voyager episode "Relativity". In the temporal starship, U.S.S. Relativity - a 29th century Starfleet Wells-class vessel, Captain Ducane has traveled to the end of time to observe the end of the Universe to better understand how Captain Kirk's visit to Earth's 1980's and the removal of two Humpback whales from the ecosystem has affected the natural course of the Universe. The Relativity's engines have overheated with the extreme time-travel. Looking out over the "Big Crunch" as the universe collapses in on itself, Ducane marvels at the destiny of all matter in the universe. Aside from the singularity point where all the Universe's matter and light is collapsing in on itself, the rest of the cosmos is a dark entropic wasteland.

"Readings?" he asked the temporal station.

"We have a 52% variance in the temporal trajectory of the spacetime continuum," Lt. Rachel Avels reported. Ducane grimaced. It was a dilemma. The natural course of time and space was to have Earth destroyed by the alien Probe and from that event, the universe unfolded in entirely different ways. Due to Captain Kirk's actions, Earth survived, two ocean mammals were removed from 20th Century Earth, a human woman named Dr. Gillian Taylor was introduced into the 23rd Century, and countless other incursions occurred. Aside from the many effects on the trajectory of space-time, the Universe contracted thousands of years earlier than models projected for some reason. The U.S.S. Relativity is on the case to figure out what ripple from Kirk's incursion has caused this effect and to repair it if they can.
