Although each layer in the image was created by hand using as little anti-aliasing as possible around edges, it isn't pixel art as it does not use a limited color palette and I used blending for the smoke and lighting effects on the vehicles as well as the rings around the planet and the color gradients in the scene.
I suppose it could be crudely defined as "mixed-media pixel art", but certainly not true pixel art.
