And I Would Think So =/ Its Just Not Drawing A Lineart On Your Pics XD I Would Draw The Shapes For The Different Colours Like It Says First, Then Just Shade As You Normally Would =3 Its Best To Experiment First Though Since Your Using A Different Program ^^'

Well I do draw in mspant then i color them in photoshop most of the times! but I don't have a scanner to scan my sketchs, so is that's mean the sketch is the best way to do this tutorial?
