Description The category system is confuzzling O_o;
Anyways, this is the fur tutorial I've been promising! Here's the finished product: [link]
Tutorials are pretty annoying to put together -_-; But I hope it's worth it. Since I saved it as a JPEG file, I can't correct anything, but you can point out mistakes if you want. I'll keep them in mind for my next tutorial (If I ever make another one LOL)

If you have any questions, ask away ^^

Helpful. (And shiny!) A good tutorial...it certainly gives me a better idea of how many steps go into beautiful lustrous fur! Can't wait to try it out!

Lol don't worry if it doesn't come out right on the first try - it took me a LONG time to be able to do fur like this. Although I think other people do it way simpler than I do LOL

Welll...I think I'm ok at it already...Haven't coloured fur for a while. Since Jaywing. I used markers and stuff...but there wasn't that much fur since it was white fur...
XD

No wonder my outlines suck. D: I dun have pigment liners of any sort... i've just been using a very fine sharpie, which bleeds horribly. DX

Well, anyways, this tutorial looks really awesome. Great job. <3

It's a cheap marker-type thing that sucks arse when it comes to outlining.(Because it's typically not used for outlining) But, since i'm poor, I just have to deal with it. XD

I used to do outlines in just black colored pencil...but, that killed my black pencils too much. >_< So, yea...definately gotta deal with teh crappy-ness. XD

blazheirio889 In reply to AngelicDemonicWolf [2008-10-06 00:21:11 +0000 UTC]

LOL oooo, I see. I used to never outline XD In fact, I never even coloured my pictures! Which is why in grade 6 when I finally started to colour stuff, my shading was so frickin' flat. Even in grade 7 XD

Ooo, I kill my black colour pencils too much anyways XD So far I've gone through... My Crayola, Roseart, Laurentien, and a Derwent Coloursoft black XD And my Prisma black is next

Haha, I never really started drawing until...9th grade. XD I mean, I doodled a lot...but in 9th grade...that's when I really started to teach myself how to draw. I guess i've come pretty far...

Lol. Black ish a very popular color, since...I like shade with it constantly. XD So, I always steal the black pencils from school. >_> SHHHHHHHH!!! XDDD Lol. The art teacher doesn't care, she knows I used them/ need them.

I only really started drawing when I uploaded my first deviation, which was like, March 11th of this year XD I think I've come a looooooooong way...

I shade the darkest parts of any picture with black. And it's great to add contrast 8D I tend to draw a lot of black things though...

XD Haha, yea. You're a really good artist! <3

So do I...I like black things. X3 Maybe 'cause i'm evil? XD LOL.

Ooh, purdyful! 8D

Yet this is infinitely more complicated than my way (light colour, darker colour, even darker colour, poof done 8D) that I'll probably mess up trying. xD

blazheirio889 In reply to Cheezestorm [2008-10-05 21:14:31 +0000 UTC]

LOL Well, to me more steps = more pwn. As long as the steps are within reason!

More pwn = more failage when I try to do it.

LAWL but more failage when you try to do it = more practice! I think...

Cheezestorm In reply to blazheirio889 [2008-10-05 21:29:14 +0000 UTC]

... lawlz, good point I guess.
I shall try out that technique as soon as I can be bothered to do another traditional picture 8D

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

blazheirio889 In reply to Cheezestorm [2008-10-05 21:37:56 +0000 UTC]

XD It took me a LONG time to develop and use that technique properly, so don't be discouraged if you don't get it right with the 1st picture. Get frustrated after the 2nd picture 8D Lol just kidding

Cheezestorm In reply to blazheirio889 [2008-10-05 21:45:32 +0000 UTC]

Lawlz okay. 8D
I'll try it out.

8D Yay! ^__^ I'm totally going to use this for a few of my floofy drawings

Are you going to make one for like... shorter fur and such >_> like the chest or legs? 0.o They'd be AMAZINGLY helpful as well!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

blazheirio889 In reply to lyingfawn [2008-10-05 21:12:40 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I do it the same way, I just make the sections I divide the fur in a lot smaller

blazheirio889 In reply to SunnyIsland [2008-10-05 14:52:01 +0000 UTC]

LOL Don't worry, I cleaned up that sketch a LOT. If I didn't clean it up at all, then it would be too embarrassing to show here XD

SunnyIsland In reply to blazheirio889 [2008-10-05 14:56:20 +0000 UTC]

lol XD I don't bother. I make shapes using HB epncils, then go over it and add some detail in 8B pencil. Then I outline it using indian inik and a paintbrush or a fineliner I could use a 9B pencil now that I have one

blazheirio889 In reply to SunnyIsland [2008-10-05 15:07:23 +0000 UTC]

I just use my good ol' 0.5 lead pencil XD If I use a dark pencil, then I have trouble erasing.
