Description
Hetalia Boxing Club AU fanart: This scene happens after Alfred's first training session. He's sore and sweaty, and he's just glad he made it there alive. Even if he knows he HAS to do sports, and the boxing club is his ONLY option since no other club accepted him, even if he knows he should be glad to be here, he just can't wait to go home and collapse on his bed, and has little to no intention on coming back to the club. He feels that because he's overweight, there's no way he'd ever be a real part of it. He sees how the third years are good, and how they enjoy it and have this complicity between them, and he'd like to have that too, but he just doesn't think he can. And yet, there's the way Francis looks at him, like he wants to be friends, meeting his eyes when Ivan tells one more of his terrible jokes or blatantly laughing at his exhausted face, without contempt or pity, and Alfred likes that. He wants more of that, wants more of Francis altogether, actually. But for that, he would have to come back and suffer again thoughout these killer trainings that leave him half dead on the bench, and... he's not sure he has the courage to endure that.Related content

Thank you! I'm still pretty deep in the hetalia fandom but since I fell into sports manga, I like to mix the two together^^

I did another fanart of this AU here:
Ludwig and Ivan
There's more on my sketchbooks but I don't have much time to ink, color and edit, so it's just sketches. I also need to work on my fancomics, It's been a while^^

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! The AU! This looks good, Francis' expression is so fierce lol! And I like the idea of him being the strong one in the group, instead of Alfred. I feel like he's always the most underestimated character.

Well, as for group dynamics, Ludwig and Ivan are the strongest one (and the best buds in the entire universe too): Ivan is by far the best fighter, his level is actually a lot higher than anyone else's. Ludwig is their leader/trainer, he's the captain of the club, even though he's a second years, and not a third year, the third years (ivan gilbert and francis) let him be in charge because he's the most trustworthy of them and actually cares about respecting the techiques and the rules, so without him it would be like street fighter 24/7. He's the one who came up with the rule that the first years were not allowed to take part in the illegal fights and bets, after the incident with Arthur. Arthur is kind of the "ghost" character that both the club itself and the frus relationship tiptoe around without even facing the issue. He's alive and well but it's more about what he did. He was the second best fighter after Ivan, and an extremely fast, vicious and agressive one. He is the shiniest star, he had this aura of dubious sanity, this dark energy that radiated stronger than anyone else's. He also was Francis's boyfriend. Untill that illegal fight when he sent someone straight to the hospital. The kid could never walk again, and sometimes they see him in a wheelchair so there's no way the club could forget. The family sued Arthur and between other things, the consequence is that Arthur is definitely banned from any kind of martial arts because of his wild agressivity. It's kind of hard when you doubt yourself to know that the ex of the guy you fancy, if he ever simply decided on it, could enleash hell on you in a flash and leave you broken. Francis never speaks of their breakup, Alfred practically knows nothing about their relationship and is under the frustrating impression that Arthur does understand Francis a lot better that he does. Really this AU could be simply titled: "Alfred doesn't have it easy( FrUS edition) by BlumeShullman: this time facing pounds of fat, evil(yet not so much? but super duper dangerous for sure) ex of love interest, hardcore trainings, mystery, himself as worse enemy and trying to pass his finals!!! BONUS: supporting characters are all lovabley dysfonctional, garanteed with side dramas and bruises!" yep. Somehing like that. I love this AU lol^^

Haha 'Alfred doesn't have it easy,' that def ought to be the title! And 'facing pounds of fat,' rofl!
I can see Arthur as being extremely aggressive when prompted, but how does Francis feel about this, what's his impression of the situation?

Well, Francis is still close to Arthur and respects him a lot. There's this strange mood between them like they both have some secret reason to hold each other in the highest esteem that drives Alfred insane. But the Francis of this story is special. While he is friendly, cultured and polite, he also is controlling in a subtle way. And he has his own sense of right and wrong. To him, madness and agressivity aren't bad. Only dishonesty and cowardess are. You need to know who you are and embrace it, not hide it. He also doesn't have beauty standarts. Alfred wonders how of all poeple a good looking guy like Francis would fall in love with the short pale agressive boy with ugly eyebrows, and then him, the insecure overweight guy with glasses. It's not like he didn't get other offers. But Francis sees things differently. As for what you seem to imply, Francis isn't worried about Arthur going after Alfred to beat him up. He has no doubt that it could happen, but he isn't protective over Alfred. Not in that way at least. If anything, he wants Alfred to become tougher, and he will, cause we'll never say it enough: Alfred doesn't have it easy on his first year of college, and that is definitely going to change him. In fact, Francis is exactly what Alfred needs: someone who desn't believe for a second in his weekness.

So Francis is more interested in their potential than anything else? What does he like most about Alfred? Are they together already in the story or just moving toward that?

Alfred instantly finds Francis attractive, and he's attracted to this independant (adult?) vibe Francis has. Francis notices that almost immediatlely, and he's happy about it, but at first he wouldn't do anything because he doesn't KNOW Alfred. He remains open to the possibility and spends a lot of time with Alfred because he's his "senpai" so to speak, (the first years are trained 50% by Ludwig (who wants to become a professional trainer), 50% by another member of the club, Alfred by Francis, Elizaveta by Gilbert, and Kiku by Ivan (but that last part almost never happens, cause Ivan is a terrible teacher. He's lazy and has this kind of friendship with Ludwig that looks really unfair to outsiders cause it seems Ludwig can't say no and is always doing tons of extra stuff for Ivan. Alfred and Francis get closer, cause even if he's friends with Ivan, ludwig and gilbert, Francis's real deep connection in the club was Arthur and now he's lost that. The bond he has with the others is much more superficial. He mostly likes Ludwig but you can't compete with Ivan so even if they get along, they never could become besties, the place is already taken and well guarded. Francis hardly ever lets Alfred breathe, that's how their relationship works in the beginning. He's hard on Alfred because he wants to see him overcome his tendency to give up and think he's not good enough. He can get angry when Alfred wants to give up, and in that way, he is seriously invasive, but that's also because he soon decides in his mind that they're gonna be together, but it can't happen before Alfred becomes stronger. He knows Alfred enough to know that no matter how attracted he might be to Francis, he would say no without hesitation if Francis asked him out, because deep down he hates himself and thinks he's not good enough. Like a lot of self-loathing teenagers, Alfred has a sharp humor and a keen understanding of hidden hierachy and motives of poeple. He is also unpredictible and genuine. Francis likes that about him. He's never bored with Alfred and as time passes it gets increasingly infuriating to him that Alfred can't see how great he is. In spring Francis decides to take the matter in his own hands and push Alfred with much less subtlety, and he gets mixed results. Francis doesn't have it so easy either in he end...

Ok cool! It sounds very interesting, I'd ask more but I don't wanna get all the spoilers out yet either!
Is this gonna be solely a comic?

It's just going to be a few drawings here and there with a description. I'm not gonna add another comic to the smothering pile of to-do things that is my drawing agenda lol!
