A lot of Avatar fans have a rather intense dislike of Maiko...in fact, I don't think I've seen another couple take so much heat! So, using my patented Booter Logic, I decided to delve into the reasons WHY(constant face sucking aside). However, my logic must have had an off day, judging from the grade it got. :/But ya gotta admit, guys who act like Mai DO get a love of love. Which is maybe why MAO is a good idea...[link]
Now, before you jump down my throat with Reasons Why Booter Is Wrong And Ignorant For Making This, let me just nip that in the bud. I am not promoting ANY sort of shipping, and this thing is a SPOOF. So if you're actually looking for a well-researched and thought out debate starter, look somewhere else.

PFFTT HAHAHA! That is hilarious! Man, I completely agree with it! Zutara shippers can hate me all they want, but I actually like Maiko. Then again, I kinda like Zutara too. It really depends on my mood and what episodes I've recently watched.

Not quite, it's probably to do with nothing but empty kissess also Mai has no reason to be such a gothic person.
Also the depth of her, not very much. I don't really like Severus but I like Hatori as I sometimes imagines his pain and he's a very nice, quite polite at times.
But if not for this reason this information can all be thrown away, because it's most likely that they're enemy shippers.
I myself am a non-shipper but I really dislike Maiko. Love should have understanding (Lots of other stuff that Maiko doesn't have), to me Maiko sadly does not have this important quality.Although I do like this piece of art so it deserves a fave!
P.S. Love cannot be understood by formuals and science!

Your logic is right on in my opinion. In retrospect, its so obvious. And I bet fanfiction.net would agree with you. (Come on. There should be a rule... Rule 79- any fandom with 2 guys or more will have fanfics with 2 or more of the guys gay with each other.) I bet once the male mai and zuko rear bumbing fictions come out, all the other couples, including zutara, zutoph, and even zuroh (thast right, Zuko and Iroh) will all be long forgotten.
P.S. It was either this or twist your theory into an assault on the female gender. I picked the high road.

I love Mai. She's had a crush on Zuko forever and I always cheer for relationships like that (when you finally get together with someone you've always wanted to get together with. In Aang's case too, btw!!!).
Anyway I think Mai and Zuko make a good couple. They suit each other. And hey, they made the same-same thing work. It doesn't ALWAYS have to be opposites attract.
AND that was SO AWESOME in the last episodes when she fought Azula to help Zuko and Aang get away. SHE LOVES ZUKO! How can you stare that in the face and scream that you hate her for it? She ROCKS for how much she loves Zuko and that she's willing to go that far. That was AWESOME and I couldn't cheer for her MORE after seeing that. It was AWESOME.

Well,i cant tell if your being totally serious with this, but personally, i don't dislike Mai because or those personality traits listed. I mean (just using a random example, don't shoot me) A sour attitude, cold exterior , and sarcastic wit pretty much sums up Raven (from teentitans, again don't shoot me, just using this as an example) and people seem to pretty much like her no problem. I haven't met too many who don't like her. Personally, my problem with Mai is her total not caring about the world and 'hating everything' i mean, she didn't even care about her little brother. Its hard to like a character that cold or to relate to someone like that, because most of us care about people that would be close to us, ie) our little brother or someone. I think that since she was introduced like this, a lot of people couldn't relate to her, or like her. Just an opinion. :/ .

Not tryin' to sound confrontational, but the whole reason she didn't care about her little brother, for one, was because of Azula. She realized that if she disagreed with Azula, being the princess, Mai's family would suffer, since they're a political family. And Mai wasn't about to object to Azula.
Second of all, she knew the Avatar would never hurt her brother, so she figured that eventually Aang would return the baby, as he did anyway. Mai isn't stupid. n_n

I like Mai as a person (even though she isn't a... *person* per se). I don't like Maiko much, but it's way better than Jetara. Although he is the schmex, I hate Jet. I would *SO* bang him, but I *REALLY* hate him... If you know what I mean. With Zuko, I love him *and* I would bang him... I guess that's the defining line between Jetara and Zutara for me. Maiko just never interested me. This is prolly because I was already and avid Zutarian by the time Maiko came on the scene.

I think the reason why people don't like Maiko is cause it used to be two, fairly negative people together, and they didn't exactly calm each other down. But now that Zuko's a good guy, and he's all adorkable, I think he's gonna be the thing that brings Mai to the good side- even if she's still her scarcastic, cold self, which I love btw, she's still gonna be good- and it'll be like a less harsh version of Mai, but still Mai, and a fairly happy, sunny Zuko 
If she was a dude it would've been hotter though XD But even with guys, you need the feminine and masculine roles, before they were both more dominant masculine, but Zuko's happier etc now, so it'll be balanced.
