A lot of Avatar fans have a rather intense dislike of Maiko...in fact, I don't think I've seen another couple take so much heat! So, using my patented Booter Logic, I decided to delve into the reasons WHY(constant face sucking aside). However, my logic must have had an off day, judging from the grade it got. :/But ya gotta admit, guys who act like Mai DO get a love of love. Which is maybe why MAO is a good idea...[link]
Now, before you jump down my throat with Reasons Why Booter Is Wrong And Ignorant For Making This, let me just nip that in the bud. I am not promoting ANY sort of shipping, and this thing is a SPOOF. So if you're actually looking for a well-researched and thought out debate starter, look somewhere else.

Yeah Maiko has become one of the most hated ships by Zutarains mainly because it is canon. I thought this was pretty funny.

You just won all of my internets THANK YOU VERY MUCH. God, all of the Mai hate... hard to be a fan. Hey, at least Avatar doesn't get all the slash pairings that stuff like Naruto gets. I'm just hoping that we get to see more of Mai and get some character development out of her. Maybe she'll go after Zuko >_>

I don't know why Maiko spawns off so much "random hate".... I LIKE Mai, and while Maiko isn't a very favorite pairing of mine, I DO like it to some extent (enough so that I can fave pictures of it without any problem)

it's the fact that she is female yet has those characteristics, if she was male she would be to much like Zuko and no one would like her because of that.
so your logic is correct, it's probably either the subject or the teacher is female and has all the characteristics that you pointed out that mai had... in which case i suggest running...

I honestly don't mind the pairing, but i will admit that it was ultimately disappointing. I think this is because they didn't show the relationship -develop-...it was just -there-. Seriously, that ruined all the fun.

aanyways, I kinda like Mai's character. She has a very different personality from the other avatar girls. which I like. A show without diversion = boredom. Like DMC, it was so cliche that I stopped watching after 15 minutes Dx
Though I must say, even though she's a cool character, her coldness towards the world is unpleasant at times.

Though I must say, there is no fandom hate for these two, before the Beach, everyone on ASN, had some Maiko picture in their avatar and/or signature. (After Beach started decline)
However, (since I never read Harry Potter), you can also say that Hatori Sohma also equals: Unrequited love, broken heart that is heals, and baby seahorse.

Mai's just a girl, that's why no one likes her. XD She's a teenage girl who's annoyed with her parents and fairly apathetic towards life. Okay, VERY apathetic towards life. In short, she is more or less half of the teenage world. There's a good portion of Mai in all of us....
