Description
Combining my extreme nerdinesses for chemistry and chainmaille, I am slowly piecing together an element collection, with as many samples as reasonably possible being made of chainmaille...anything I can cast, bend, or otherwise shape into rings without inert atmosphere, vacuum, or an arc-furnace (maybe a project later on) will be made into maille. These are the first five samples, made from reasonably easy to obtain metals, most being used in jewelry to a large extent.
Please see the continuation of my element collection here:

What's the pattern used in the top-center item called? I love the look of it!

When are you going to make the sodium and potassium mail?

Awesome project. Keep it goin cus I wanna see what you can turn into maille. Maybe do another set with just common metals instead of just pure elements. Then you can have brass and bronze and stuff.

BAHAHA that's so cool! I wasn't aware Niobium was used in jewelry

Niobium is used in jewelry because it is hypoallergenic and can be colored very brightly by anodization. I haven't worked with anodized material yet but may order some soon.

Might want to go micromaille on Au and Pt just to save money. ^_^

I was planning on that...there are worse things than Au and Pt price wise...rhodium for example is curretly at $9850/ozt...*twitch*
