thanks.

it's a bridge in downtown Houghton, Michigan, where I go to school. it runs across a lake (which was actually turned into a canal connecting Lake Superior to itself through the Keweenaw Peninsula) and connects Houghton to Hancock. the two towns sit on opposite sides of a valley that has the lake at the bottom. it's kinda sweet.

It looks like something from the future... or something but it does look really cool.

I have to admit you have been doing very nice urban landscapes lately... I am impressed... they are quite geometrical but sensitive to human presence as well...

hehe, thanks.
actually, thank you very much. i thought about that statement you made and that's pretty nice considering there must be about 10,000 pictures of that bridge, at least.

thanks again.

yeah, the fact that there are 10,000 pictures of it is why i hate them all. they are always ao cliche. i'm sure you've seen you're fair share of them, always far away from an angle. i like yours cause is shows the underbelly, the part noone ever photographs. it's not original subject matter, but it's shot in an orginal way.

thanks. yeah, they're all the same. one or two wouldn't be bad, but everyone things they need it. i was like a foot from the water under the bridge, down on the rocks. heh, it was homework i was doing last minute and it was the only thing i could think of.

I like this photo, but for a more interesting perspective, if it were possible to be slightly more higher up, to take a photo of the two bridges, then that would also make an interesting photo. that may be impossible, I don't know the scenery, I just thought that would be kind of cool.

ignore me

i actually did that on a later roll, actually. not from the same position, but considerably higher. i'll make a print and scan it when i get a chance. hopefully soon though.... thanks for the comments though, definitely appreciated.

i love the black and white effect (i don't know the technical name)
the bridge is a great structure and the water surrounding it looks really effective.

I'm a big fan of this one. Great job and nice work on the composition. The two bridges seem to merge together and form into one. The light also seems to be just right and not too bright. Great texture in the sea and the clouds.

Thanks. I would have liked it if the towers of the bridge stood out more... I'll just have to get it in better lighting and sky conditions sometime. Interesting what you say about the bridges merging. I plan on developing more film today and there's another shot of the bridge that I want to make a print of that may interest you....
