Description
When i get out to Lake Superior i am free. The troubles of life take a back seat and i am rejuvenated. Life comes back into perspective and the realization returns to me that my worries are pointless. The mind is cleansed by the purity of the untouched outdoors. i could stay out here for hours.... maybe even days. It's simply amazing.Taken at a state park on the shore of Lake Superior on April 30, 2003 by a good friend borrowing my camera. It's really his shot, i gotta give him credit for seeing it in the middle of our conversation. i just tinted the colors in Photoshop.

yes. there's really something about it that's very liberating. it's hard to think of moving away from here in less than a year. hopefully i can return before too long. i wonder if the oceans can hold this power over us, too...

That angle gives a strong feeling. I especially love the bright reflected edges on the head of the silhouette. Adding a bule tint was a brilliant decision.... But it seems like you missed the area between the legs? Maybe I am wrong... It still doesn't hurt this beautiful image.

Spectactular shot, utterly beautiful. It feels so quiet and easy. The signature of rocks at your feet provide a very interesting break agains the water. Very nice use of color.

This is your shot J, just the kind of thing I love about your photography. Composition is wonderful. I love the way you're looking into the future, free of stress, just out there enjoying your life. Very very strong image and in the thumbnail, it looks like your walking on the water!

Very nice, I'm gonne have to go with a +fav too, this is really gret composition and i love the colours and the way the silhouette of the man and the sun created like a halo around the silhouette. Great stuff, you really have captured the experience and the calmness of being there

The clouds seem to surround him and it seems like ... glowing. And then, the water. It's wonderful.

This is a very nicely composed shot, I like the way you have put the subject to the edge, rather than in the middle, as many people would be tempted to do. It contributes to the authenticity of the shot, makes it feel just a little less staged.
I also like the way the sea is very, very black in this image, which obviously ties in with the rest.
And the final bit of topping, which I really only noticed in full view, is that you can make out the outline of the hair, rather than just one big lump.... excellent!
The way the writing is, well, written, at the bottom makes it seem like a poster, which this would look great as....... Great work.
