Description
Okay, gang, here's something interesting. These are two front elevation concepts for a set of plans that was executed by an ambitious and talented young lady in Santa Barbara, California. She found me on Deviant through a third party, so technically, this is a paid (and ongoing) Deviant commission. Her plans were done on Chief Architect, which gives non-architects tremendous power. She asked me to help with the elevations, which she had started, but needed a little embellishment and artistic flair. I came back at her with significantly modified and embellished front elevation concepts with many different ideas to choose from. The final home design will be simpler than these, but this shows how I typically operate, which is to "push it to the limits" and give people more than they asked for. The descriptions on the plan above are self explanatory. The lower floor (basement) is where all the principal rooms are, so yes, there is a substantial walk-out basement and lots of interesting things going on in back of the house, including a hot tub and a view of the Pacific Ocean from around 500 feet up.As usual, all renderings done completely by hand in pencil, scanned, tweaked to sepia, and labeled.

The size and font of the text make this a pain to read even if it would be interesting. Not sure what size your monitor is or if the working file had a higher resolution but on my 21" it is pretty annoying, I can just imagine someone looking at this from a small laptop :s

Original scan is very small, so a large screen shows these doodles as bigger than original. I probably put a small "point" size typefont on it because the file is small too.

This is pretty cool and it's interesiting to see your work method, too. Haha I like both designs so I wouldn't be able to choose.
I wonder what is the final, simplier design looks like. o.o

Well, the whole program is changing now, it will be very different. Regulations, codes, and getting designs approved by "the board" is very tough out there...

It seems like a place I'd like to live...! I think the upper one (no. 2? 0.0) is my favourite - but I'd rather like an atelier than a garage ^^

There's a study/loft overlooking the kitchen/living on the first floor, and a fifth bedroom next to it (far right of elevation) that could be used as a bonus/studio space.

Hmm... But I don't have a car, so why would I need a garage?

That gives you enough room for 20 bikes.

I was floored when sweetie plugged "built4ever" into the Pinterest search engine and hundreds of my Deviant submissions were pinned there. Maybe thousands. Crazy.

In my opinion, the design from above is the best one. That Spanish balcony is awesome.

I think I will stay in the Smokies. They are enough like the mountains in Bolivia that I should be able to survive there.

Ah, but we have blueberries, walnuts, pecans, rasberries and black berries. You just have to get them before the bears do.

Tasty. I have a one pound bag of local pecans in the freezer. Ever try blueberry jelly on toast?

Yes, which was UN-PINKIFIED, thank you very much. Deviant has produced a number of nice commissions for me in the last few months, two with ongoing work and pay. I have to say, it's conceivable to get all my biz from the internet, maybe within a year, from several sites.
