FAQ #332: Does deviantART have a feature that will automatically watermark my deviations?
"This option will be presented to you only if you change the Display Options field to one of the smaller resolutions available in the submission/editing process, allowing you to add a watermark or not.
Images which are kept at 'original size' will not be processed by us and will not present the option of automatic watermarking on your images."
Also, if you submit your image under certain categories, or your image type (jpeg, png etc) is different from the usual, the watermark option will not appear.

My god. I literally came back to dA after hiatus of a year. I can't add watermarks anymore. It won't let me lower my resolution at all. What is the problem? My pic is 300x800

uh the picture is quite small to lower the resolution and the watermark is bigger than that i think

How do you change the size of an images display on Deviantart so it's not 'original size' and you are able to put a water mark on it? I can't seem to be able to pull a drop down menu for the Display Options to change resolution.

If your image is too small they only allow you to put is as the original size so you won't be able to use deviantart's watermark

It was normal paint size, I believe. I've uploaded smaller images before and had the option though which is weird :/

Nope, it's what I normally do. Digital paintings. I've submitted stuff to it before, and most of them aren't showing the option too. Maybe it's just that Paint isn't big enough :/ Oh well. Thanks though for trying to help

if you want a custom one you need to do it yourself (as it copy-paste it on your work yourself with whatever software you use, eg photoshop or PaintToolSAI etc)

search the meaning of watermark, maybe you'll understand better. But yes, dA will NOT own your art. However, I actually recommend making and putting your own watermark for the sake of beauty because dA's watermarks are really huge and to be honest, not the best looking haha.
On dA, you can't scale the dA's watermark, which is why I recommend making and putting your own so that you can decide the size and position of your own watermark.
