Description He is finally awake! Run for your lives mortals! He hungers!

Finally got the marionette strung. I am insanely happy with this puppet.

I used monofilament for the tentacles. They are on a mobile like apparatus, so any movement causes them to randomly whip around. I aboid touching the monofilament because it cuts the fingers.

I used .5 mm satin string for the rest of the puppet. It feels good on the fingers.

It is carved from basswood with the exception of the skinny parts, which are poplar (for strength). The torso and head are hollow, the head holds the battery for the LED eyes.

He glows in the dark. He was painted with artist's acrylics with my airbrush.

The wings are pigskin. They flap. I'm stoked. 'nuff said.

Thanks. I'm practicing and the only two things I can get him to do smoothly right now is sing and walk. The arms and wings are coming along slowly. Once that is done, I'll try posting a video or link it to youtube.

Omg, I shall run for my life, but I canΒ΄t becuase that marionette is way too awesome for being avoided.
ThatΒ΄s cool how you combined the monofilaments and satin-strings. Really nifty.

At the rate that I carve, it will be a couple of years. But yes, it will be on youtube. I'm going to try to get this one up on youtube once the movements are smooth.

Thanks. The cool part is that the tentacles move randomly when I bounce the tentacle mobile. I can control individual tentacles, but I try to avoid the monofilament with my fingers.

As soon as I finish the other actors in Professor C'thulhu's Old Tyme Theater it may be a possibility to see him in action.

Trying to find the black light that I know I have. Then I'll get a better picture of him glowing.
