Splinter has grown from this experience, learnt some things about himself and has come to terms with who he is and what sort of life he is now living. And he's realised that he's actually fine with that
change is hard, it always is, but sometimes it's a blessing in disguise. I hope every-one enjoyed my little story. I thought it'd be interesting to write something to show Splinter's transition from orphaned rat into loving father.
I really want to thank every-one who left comments and feedback on these pages, you guys are the best
As I said on the first page, for a while I was going to abandon this story because I didn't think any-one would like it. I'm so happy that some of you enjoyed it as much as you did. You encouraged me to keep going and finish it. Perhaps one day I'll do another short story if I feel the urge to.
As for those who've come late I hope you've enjoyed the story as well
I've never done a comic like this, so I'm really grateful for every-one's support. thank you so much!
Raphie is safe, the family is together again, and Splinter has made peace within himself. It's time for some well deserved sleep in the warm nest

Incredible depiction. I love the eyes... And I love that I can tell the chibis apart by their expressions and poses. I've rarely seen them drawn without masks and coloring where I can tell which is who. Amazing.

This is just beautiful; the art is amazing, but also the thoughtful attention to the wording. Everything felt like it came from Splinter himself, and everything that came from him makes sense; I am a bit of a stickler for my Splinter potrayals to be in character, and you did well.
I've never really read any pre-full mutation stuff for the TMNT, but this is wonderful! You win my internets anyday!

That was just....aww, perfect! I'm so happy to see this revolve around Splinter and his emotional side. Not something common in the TMNT 'verse. Also, I like your take on the beginning, just fits in nicely. Enjoyed the art but of all the story you shared.

F**k the weapons. All these turtles needed to do was turn those eyes on the enemy. Reminds me of in Shreik 2 when Puss in Boots turned those eyes on. But anyway, I loved this lovely comic. I really loved Splinter as well. I’ve seen so many pictures of where he looks lot like a fox or a wolf. Here he looked like the rat he was. He was beautiful. Beautifully drawn.

I agree! Although I must admit drawing rats isn't very easy XD;; I drew a looooot of real rats before I felt comfortable drawing Splinter. I'm really glad you like how I draw him though, especially since I don't draw him the way he looks in canon at all 8'D

I absolutely love this comic! In an older age I've developed a soft spot for Splinter, so reading a comic that depicts his very first days as a reborn mutant rat was great.
Splinter's inner monologue was so touching and very authentic. Thoughts like that would probably cross anyone's mind in a situation like his.
I actually had to hold back tears as
he woke up to find out the fourth turtle had gone missing when he had just been swashed over by all those sad, overpowering feelings the preceding night.
Great, wistful and touching comic, indeed.
Faving the first page, so that I can easily read this again whenever I want to. Good work. <3

I've grown a deep soft spot for Splinter myself XD I felt he really deserved a small story devoted to his inner feelings and thoughts since he is so reserved, but that doesn't mean he has any less emotions than any of his sons do. I felt that not enough people explore his feelings.

Indeed! He's often left to the background even though he's one of the key characters in the series. Though, I do understand that not knowing much about his train of thought or inner, deeper feelings does give him a nice, arcane aura of a ninja sensei. But I'm glad if someone dares to take a shot at shedding light to his feelings. <3

Love it! It was a thoughtful work and I can 'hear' splinters voice in my head as I read it. Well thought out and wonderfully executed. I really like the approach that Splinter has second thoughts about having taken the boys in with going through so much it makes quite a bit of sense. Great job!

This was really good, but in the first panel, you used the word 'bare', which is correct in spelling, but not in context. you should have used 'bear' instead. D'aww, I love the last panel, soooo cuuuutttteee!!!!!

I really enjoyed this comic. Amazing linework with both the characters and background. Very incredible. Loved the storytelling (naturally) and thought you conveyed everything about emotion and attachment very well.

Well it seems the comic has been a rousing success. I guess people liked it XD. Theres not enough art of Splinter and you really do him justice here. He seems really relieved to find Raph and that must be Leo. ANd how he's grateful to be welcomed home by the other three is heart warming as now he isn't regreding his feelings as he is now embracing them. He has been given a great gift. The gift of compassion. Thats something not earned but felt. And how he now is sleeping with them where at theend whereas in the beginning he is wallowing in self pity he sees the turtles as his sons. It's like with some older fans. I see the turtles as my brothers since I have known them so long. And then ending is a beautiful ending. The one he has his arm around is aboviously Raph, then it's Mikey with Leo on his thigh and Don sleeping on top I think. In any case, I'm glad you came to me about this. I throughly enjoyed reading it again. I guess a big congrats is in order.

XD yes, the little one he has his arm around is Raph, Mikey is the one with freckles obviously, as for Leo and Donny I think at first Donny was the one by his thigh, but when put into context with the previous panel I think Donny is indeed the one lying ontop of him.

I'm just happy to help. I said that you had a special talent for it. And I think peoples reaction showed that. I hope you can do more comics like this in the future. A emotive piece that lets us connect to the charactor. And it's a good lesson you learned as well. While some people maynot like your pieces, there will be those who adore it.
Once again, by sight. I know that you make Mikey special because he's ya fave and thats cute. Any ideas for the guys when they are grown up at all?
