Description I was doing a bunch of these but I actually... really really like this one XD so here it is on its own.

More screwing of the canon style... including how Sonic runs. Sprinting makes more sense!

Great version of sonic there's also a kind of Dreamworks style to this, its really good.

No problem, it's always great to see how different artist redesign Sonic, I kind of wish Sega too a little more risks now and then and just look to public for insperation. Β Don't get me wrong, its nice to see them try new things with the Blue Blur but maybe they need to be a bit more daring.

I agree. Apparently there's a reboot or something going to happen with the Sonic universe? I don't even know. I think SEGA is too afraid of the hardcore Sonic fans to change things too much, you know? Pity. There's so much potential with this franchise that they just don't tap into. It's the reason I WANT to be a fan of it, until I look into what actually goes on in the games and things story wise. It makes me kinda sad

The Best thing they can do is rather reboot just make Sonic Game that's not cannon to the franchise and have it its own seprate entity. Β You Could call it Sonic Alter R. Β Make it a darker game, use infulences from the Westonised Sonic Universe, but still keep the core concept that its about sonic and have him doing free running/Parkour at hight speeds while fighting robots. Β If it fails then no problem, it's not like Sonic 06 were it nearly destroyed the franchise, fans can choose to look at it as its own self contained game, or ignore it and stick with what they think works. Β But that's just me.

I''m guessing moving his arms back and forth constantly was to hard to put on a video game screen in the early nineties and the arms behind his back stuck.

I hate the cannon style of Sonic too. Have you noticed that none of the characters in the sonic games have much of a personality. I don't know of the comics so I can't say anything much about them (I'm not a Sonic fan).

I like your style of Sonic though It doesn't hurt my eyes like the cutscenes in Sonic: Colours (I never new that such colours would burn my eyes . . .).
However yours is great ^ ^

XD I don't hate it, I just feel a lot of the design elements are very "wtffff?? D8"
I wouldn't know about lack of personality... I'm playing Sonic CD XDD I've never played any of the Sonic games where any-one talks. And I have no idea about the comics. Never read 'em.

XD Basically I'm just drawing whatever I want however I want. I like this kind of running pose, so I drew it instead of how Sonic usually runs. I think because I'm not a solid fan means I don't feel bad for screwing with the canon XDD I'm having fun though.
