Description
This is a reposting of one of C-chan's later works, and one of the first to experiment with multi-colored lighting effects. It was posted before other earlier works given that the setting makes it quite appropriate for the winter season. ^__~Despite a few issues with the lighting and some antiquated stroke handling, the image has been preserved entirely in its original form (except for the larger size).
This is considered "fanart", given that Fried Chicken Linux-tan was originally created by Siya and Abraxas-tan (a benign virus) was originally created by an artist in C-chan's old forum by the name of Gussy Keniji. Both are wearing each other's hats in this picture -- of course Fried Chicken Linux-tan would normally wear the fried chicken hat. ^___^'
While the two are normally shy and demure by themselves, they become relaxed and comfortable when they're together, being able to relate on so many things and talk for hours on end. Currently they are seeking refuge inside a "Byte Me" pizzeria (a reference to Aurora's OS-tan comic), trying to outlast three of the most voracious, glutinous characters waiting outside who seem intent on devouring their hats.
From left to right, the characters are:
Mimail-tan: a virus-tan created by the artist Infinity Zero.
FreeBSD-tan: C-chan's alternative design for this OS-tan, and one of many of her appearances in his works.
Windows XP-tan: no group of gluttons is complete with the original XP Pro-tan.

This is the best OS-Tan work I've ever seen made by you.

Cute and well-done. I like that I can see the two girls' reflections, the back of the eatery's neon sign, and the reflections of the salt and pepper shakers and drinks. The snow is a nice touch, too.

Thank you very much! ^^
Funny you should mention how much you like the reflections and scenery -- the scene was actually inspired from a visit to a Chinese take-out restaurant during Winter. It wasn't the nicest-looking place in the world, but the combination of the table, glass, neon lights and snow was etched into my mind forever -- long enough to draw this anyway. ^___^

When i see that bunny virus i instantly thinks "i am the white bunny, chase me if you can. >:3", wasn't it an old virus named bunny/rabbit or something from the 80s, that spread thro company computer networks and made printers keep printing "chase me if you can" untill they was out of paper?
loves the coloring and the drawing, it simply looks epic. <3
*trying not to all of your OS-tan pics

Fufu... well rabbits i figure would be a common theme for some viruses, given the whole Alice in Wonderland thing. Actually, most of the Mimail variants install a file called "Rabbit.exe" to run their exploit -- this in part was why she was drawn with the rabbit ears. ^___^
And thank you! C-chan draw this picture just in time for the holidays last year, after being inspired by a visit to a... *drum roll*... Chinese food restaurant. ^.^'
Seriously,... between the ambience, neon lighting, and snow, inspiration hit him like lightning. The rest is history. ^-^

Quiubole Raveenz! ^^

Ohoho, it's looks like I'm not the only 'Ship Captain around here... ^^'
I remember back in the day when your predecessor originally posted this... twas New Year's Eve, right?
This picture is just so full of atmosphere-- it makes me smile every time I see it. The characters are adorable, and the background, complete with hiding gluttons, is perfect as well. And the glasses of tea are very realistic looking... O.O
But I gotta ask...what's the deal with this parody idea I've heard so much about? ^^'

Wow... it WAS around Near Year's wasn't it? GAWD, where does the time fly? ^.^
My brother has always said the same thing about this drawing (about it having a "cozy" atmosphere) so it's considered his absolute favorite up to this day. I think that a lot of the elements that helped this picture also translated into our recent Christmas picture, so I'm looking forward to THAT picture being his new favorite. We'll see. ^___^
As for the parody idea... ehhh, you really have to watch Utena (the TV series, not the acid-trip movie) to really get an idea of just how... unique... the parody pic will be. ^.^'

Don't ask me where the time goes... I've been afflicted by Flying Time Syndrome ever since one spring morning on the Garden State Parkway, a little less than two years ago. o.O
Utena the series, NOT the acid trippy movie? But I love acid-trippy movies. I still want to see Paprika someday. Anyhow, I have some idea what the premise of Utena is-- so I can venture to guess that your parody picture would, indeed, be quite unique. XD

Uhhh.... do I hear a long story? ^___^'
And watch that movie at your own peril... don't say I didn't warn you. ^,^
The TV series, though, is very good. Dated... but different. ^^
Haven't heard terribly good things about Paprika, but I enjoyed clips of the ending.

>>>>Uhhh.... do I hear a long story? ^___^'
Not really-- all throughout my life, my sense of time has been rather slow. Then, inexplicably, when I was returning from Florida to New England, my perception of time changed radically...
At exactly sunrise. Driving on the Garden State Parkway.
Granted, time started speeding up then, but wasn't at normal-speed until I got back home.
And it hasn't slowed down since (except for a couple weeks in October, but that was just a little hiccup).
>>>Haven't heard terribly good things about Paprika, but I enjoyed clips of the ending.
I've heard Paprika is a big bowl of mindfsck. XD

This is, indeed, seasonally appropriate! With as harassed as those two get, they deserve this moment you C-chan gave them. ^^

Might be a good tie to remind the audience that YOU created FCL-tan and that's why she's awesome!!! ^v^
Oh,... and hopefully you're okay with my Utena parody idea -- C-chan may be gone, but I'm personally quite interested in drawing it. Fufu... ^____^

I am still extremely impressed by the realism of the reflections and teacups, achieved with vector graphics!
FCL-tan and Abraxas-tan make a good pair of friends, and it seems that the three gluttons are going to be waiting a LONG time for them to come out of that pizzeria!

C-quel In reply to Kattlanna [2008-12-21 05:29:02 +0000 UTC]
Fufufu... Especially considering that after doing this for so often, the pizzeria ends up becoming something of a "shipping lane". ^___^'
Another reason I posted this up is because I entertained the idea of drawing that Utena parody featuring Abraxas and FCL-tan that C-chan never got around to doing. It should be a quick job -- perfect for after the New Year once the holiday insanity has subsided a bit. ^__^
Thank you again, Katt-chan! ^.^
