Okay, this is something I've beein F-ing around with since I learned you can do it. Its been glitchy as hell for me, but I've sort of figured it out. I hope it helps someone!
Again, I've been just messing with PMXe until I got it to work. This probably isn't the best method, so I'm looking into ways on how to improve upon my own method, so and sort of feedback is appreciated.
And if you make something using this tutorial, I'd love to see it ^_^

:S It is moving so fast, is there any way to slow it down?

There is a way, but I'm not sure how :/ Β The place where I had you put 10 in does control the speed, lowering can get wird but I would try it. Β Also, from what I understand, if the model has less vertices it will spin more slowly. Β

Wow, that is seriously cool!
Now if only I could think of a use for it, other than making an electric fan.
I've got to think of something, though; it's too cool to pass up!

I first learned thatb is was possible ebcause I found a stage that has a bunch of moving lights and such ( [link] ) so maybe you could do something like that?
Either way, when you do make somthing, you should totally send it to me ^_^ I'd love to see it :3

I decided to make a mood light, hoping to make it gently cycle through the colors of the rainbow, but instead it cycles through so quickly that it's almost epilepsy-inducing.Β Any ideas how to make it slow down?Β (The test render is here: fav.me/d6e9isd )

The thing I pointed to with the yellow arrow; where I told you to put 10 in.Β Try a lower number.Β It got kinda glitchy for me when I did it on my model, but it did slow the spin down, and that could have just been my model.

Thanks, I'll try that.
(Sorry about the late response; I've been off-line for about three weeks...)

Hmm, I tried it, but it still didn't work.Β Apparently, odd numbers in that slot make it spin on a different axis, and even numbers all seem to behave the same way, whether they're 2, 10 or 90. Β (Strangely, there was a little variation in the behavior of the odd numbered ones, but mostly only regarding the angle at which it spins.)Β I guess I'll have to just make it a manual spin thing.

Hmm, well the information is useful at least....
The stuff I marked in red, changing that may make a difference as well, assuming you want to give it another go.

Ooh, long delayed reply here....
I did try several other things, but ultimately, nothing ever worked to get it to slow down.Β I think the speed of the spin may be dictated by the number of vertices involved:Β fewer vertices meaning faster spin, and this involved very few vertices.
In the end, I went ahead and released it with a manual spin (fav.me/d6ly15d) but included the crazy-fast auto-spin version in case anyone else wanted to have a go at fixing it.

Ahh, okay :3
Okay... I may experiment with it more and make a new/2.0 tutorial.Β Thanks again for the info, and don't worry about the long replies XD
