THIS ACCOUNT IS NO LONGER ACTIVE. FOLLOW ME at www.instagram.com/mercury_bone⦠and mercury-bones.tumblr.com/ TO KEEP UP WITH MY WORK. All new art, tutorials, references will be uploaded on there (especially Instagram)Ok this took the whole day, my gosh.
Anyway, this is basically a ref chart for my OCs; their body types and heights like the title says. I suppose you guys can use it as general reference for anatomy if you want, but I really don't know if my anatomy is good enough to trust ... so use with that warning in mind, haha!
Here's a meme of my OCs: :thumb298063736:

The Freya's butt creeps me out a little. We are seeing her side and evening though she's making her butt pointed towords us it's weird because we can see a little of the other side making it seem like she twisted herself so much just so we see both sides of her butt.

Is it alright if I use one of these (Skye's) as a reference for one of my characters? Because it's absolutely perfect. And I'll give credit, of course.

These poses are extremely helpful, especially for someone who is terrible with anatomy... Like myself. Anyhoo, I really like the poses for Yosushi and Noah, they're simple but nice. Great work!

I get this could be a good reference for any who would attept to draw, but I have no idea what the numbers to the left means, they seem to be in some kind of alien scale. Wouln't it be more logical if you wrote how tall they where in meters?
π: 0 β©: 1
tea-britannia In reply to rphb [2012-06-14 04:30:37 +0000 UTC]
The numbers are measurements in the Imperial System. Its basically anything number with a ' after it is a foot, and any number with a " after it is an inch. And 1 foot = 3 Meters. So, for example, 6'0" is 2m.

rphb In reply to tea-britannia [2012-06-14 08:22:14 +0000 UTC]
But why write something in an obsolete system of measurement?
π: 0 β©: 1
tea-britannia In reply to rphb [2012-06-14 20:38:16 +0000 UTC]
It's not obsolete. Its the one I use everyday and that a lot of countries use. Almost every single height chart you find on dA is written in imperial.

No all countries everywhere uses the metric system, or are in the midst of converting to it, but three. I believe these three countries are Myanmar (a dictatorship) Liberia (African Shithole state) and The United States of America.
The only reason America hasn't started the conversion yet is because they think of themselves as better then the rest of the world.
It is a simple fact that the metric system is better then the imperial, and it is a simple fact that everyone benefits from having a single standard. It is nothing but the immature stubbornness of a child that America refuses to start the conversion, combined with an almost ludicrous political system, that makes it almost impossible to make political decisions and actually encourage corruption.

Well, yeah. Okay. whatever. You need to calm your tits we're talking about a thing on the internet here not politics. To me it sounds like YOU are being the "better than the rest of the world" and "immature" child because you're complaining about a chart that wasn't made in the metric system and complaining and whining about how it needs to be made better. Why don't you get off your metric high horse and accept the fact that some people just simply don't use the metric system and were raised with imperial, therefore its stupid for them to try and make a chart using a system they don't understand. I mean, metric doesn't even make sense to me, and I was actually required to learn it. It just doesn't click with most people.

1 kilometre = 1000 metres = 100'000 centimetres
1 metric ton = 1000 kilograms = 1'000'000 grams
and so on, it is as simple as can be.
What is the logical connection between a foot and a mile and an inch? I am sure there is a conversion but none can claim that it is as simple as the difference between a centimetre, a metre or a kilometre.

>.> I've been trying to figure how to determine my characters height for awhile but I still struggle with it, so do you imagine this in your head like this and it works out? Do you count like 6 heads or something? Maybe focus on the skeleton lines when drawing your character? o___o I have no idea~
π: 0 β©: 1
Calvariae In reply to ReverseFrown [2012-05-06 06:29:59 +0000 UTC]
To be honest I don't do any sort of head-measurements. I don't do stick lines either. I start off with the head, the neck, then the torso and pelvis (shapes). Arms and legs I sort of do sticks at first.
