Description It's been awhile since I've drawn Mercy ...like...years...

SO to make up for my negligence I used her for my portfolio turn around!

first turn around sheet ever! and hopefully not my last!

Mercy is my Character but I give exclusive written permission for the artists of #ModelSheetCentral to borrow her for their 3-D projects on the condition that she be credited to me including a link back to my gallery.

Yeah, I see XD I should really try drawing big girls ;D they're much more curvy at least XD I was thinking of adding some weight (not much more) to Krissie, mainly coz she likes her food but doesn't really put any weight on, ha XD

thats the spirit!

I know what you mean after awhile i looked at my cast and they were all so..plain- EVERYONE was pale and Skinny...so as time goes on my cast seems to be getting browner and fatter, I've plumped up a few characters myself over the years it's great practice!

your more than welcome to borrow any of my plus size characters for practice if you like. you're welcome to borrow anyone for any reason if you like really, you KNOW OC's I trust you!

Very true XD ALL my extras looked exactly the same, 7 years back. I've had to vary the facial features and body masses even just slightly for now to make them a bit, well, different, pfft XD I also fail at varied heights, so yeah -3-

Haha, well, I may do XD thanks. And you can trust I portray them through subtle body language and expressions quite accurately ;D

I wanted to get away from it because I had a BIG Manga phase and reading someone them I could never tell the characters apparent! oh SURE in color it's easy, but this is black and white!!! so I never wanted anyone to have that problem with my cast so I've tried tweaking their face shapes and body types over the years!

I do!

Yeah, manga and anime aren't very good influences sometimes XD they have limited jaw, eye and body shapes for example. Though yet again, I was inspired by that, haha XD and set a fair few 'features' to be used while designing m own characters. I still do, though I may have to take all this into DEEP consideration now -3-

Thanks XD

Oh man tell me about it. Sailor moon, pokemon were HUGE influences on me!---however all in BAD WAYS it took me YEARS to undo the damage it did to my art style...I don't think you can ever get COMPLETELY away from anime and manga influence once it's in there, but damn so I try! it has some good points like helping learn anatomy and proportions (everywhere but in the face) however it can hurt your style too by forcing you to only draw one body type, make all your characters the same weight, height, face shape, nose shape. ETC. it really stunts your growth as an artist let me tell ya.

but you don't have to let it stunt you I clawed my away out of that forest and strove towards character diversity in EVERY snese of the word! you can too!

Mmm, so true X3 it's hard to break out of things easily XD so luckily I'll only have to tweak my extras, as there are enough differences (subtle, but still) between my main 6. Cartoon let's you be more creative and random. Though anime is less diverse and complex, obviously. It's a weird place to be, as the way I draw is kinda in between, heh XD though I was HEAVILY influenced by Sonic style at the time, which is VERY out of proportion, non consistent and varied in the the games and anime. So yeah, that sooo didn't help, pfft XD
But good advice. I'll bare it all in mind ;D

I'm really happy you chose to do a character rotation, but you know I have a problem with the hands and how they are placed (it might work against you in the future), and already told you for future reference to do them at the sides, especially if the character has long hair like here. The simple the better for these sort of things. If you did Mack, for example, with his hands behind his back that might not be as bad. I know you had the hair see-through in the sketch, but I don't think its really wise in general for this character.

I like the limited colours, and I'm in love with her outfit, the skirt especially, and the boots! Very coordinated and sexy ;D I think the feet came out great, and the hair. I would have liked to have seen a 3/4 view of her from behind as well, but I understand you were short on time. Be careful with your eye line, as Mercy's skirt seems to go up and down and then straight across. It should be like the side ways one in all of them.

Also the safety pin in her skirt stays in the EXACT same space on her skirt, twice. Surely you see why thats a problem in a rotation, and her butt crack (which I'm not sure why its shown unless she has a wedgie) does not even line up with her legs that sprout from underneath it. I'm not really impressed with the side view either, considering she has lip definition in the first two, and then not in the side view. I also think that the eyebrows going through the hair like that is a bad idea. Also Mercy's stomach seems to get shorter and then longer in different views. Be careful with that!

I think the leg placement is great however, and the profile head turn is dead on other than the lips. Really consistent, and I think the only reason I'm sad face about hiding the hands is that you draw hands SO WELL. What were you thinking D: The breasts and chest+elbow area is super consistent and I actually put a grid on this to see how consistent it really was XD Bravo! I'm sure these will only get better and better the more you do in the future

I love character turn around sheets; I love how they create a three dimensional look by showing you different angles of them and such. Anyway, I love this one! Mercy is so sexy and hot. I love her outfit and accessories a lot! I especially love her thick, but oh-so shapely legs. I certainly hope to see more of her.

This is a nice turnaround of her! All the details of her body are clearly visible. If I were an animator, I could really use this to get a sense of the character from all angles.

Nice to see some more characters with a full figure. They seem too rare. This turnaround looks great! Will be a great addition to your portfolio, I'm sure

These turnarounds have been done very well! Great anatomy and use of a some-what 3D perspective on a 2D character.

I've always liked this particular character. She turned out very cute here. Nice job on the turnaround; I know they can be a bit tricky, or at least I've found them to be that way.
