Style Challenge 11 of 20 - [link]

Today's Victim: Anime! not a single artist or a production but an entire genre or are that can me summarized in one phrase. " big shiny eyes" oh man, what can I say about anime that has not been said a million times before? well for starters a lot of people often mistake my original art style for anime ( whut?) something that greatly annoys me but I just write it off as their own ignorance and move on- but the truth is while my own style may not be anime it's self it's influences in my work are very apparent.Sailormoon was one of my biggest insperations when I first picked up a pencil, and the mentality that pink hair is totally natural probably derived from anime too.

About the Picture : a lot of my watchers think I despise anime since I make fun of it all the time. but truth be told I love anime ( however I am not IN love with anime like a good portion of deviantart) Sailormoon is just the tip of the ice berg, DBZ, Death Note, FLCL, Slayers, Air Gear, paradise kiss, PetShop of Horrors, bleach, Digimon, Pokemon. all that good stuff. while I dislike animes huge mainstream influence on EVERYTHING I do appreciate the gems in the genre.

It's kind of funny...how Anime Originated from Disney style ( Disney whom mind you is the epitome of western cartooning) and now Disney gets it's influences from Anime ( kingdom hearts) the style has gone full circle! and now it is my turn to take a crack at one of the most easily identifiable art styles of all.

I always promised my anime artist counterparts I would seriously try my hand at anime and here it is. I always keep my word ( sometimes it just takes a few....years) just to prove how serious I was about this challenge I wound up drawing it twice since the first attempt was rather pitiful I'm sure you can see why I rejected it right off the bat - [link]

but now you know the truth about my love / hate relationship with anime...be gentle.
