10 of 20 for my style challenge! - [link] half way homeDon't ask me how Jorge R. Gutierrez snuck into my style challenge, I've made major changes to my list this year and swapped this in place of an artist thats been done to death. but for those of you who don't know Jorge R. Gutierrez is one of the pairs of brains behind the Nickelodeon show El Tigre! unfortunately it's a show I rarely ever catch on ( I don't have nicktoons network) but when I DO manage to sit and watch it I always love it. ~mexopolis 's amamzing story telling combined with =SuperMacho "s award winning chracter designs make it truly something to behold. Unfortuantly I did not get to meet Jorge at comic con in 2007 but I DID get to attend a lecture about how to get into the biz he was at, so bonus points! ( I'll snag him this year)
About the Picture: El Tigre's style is so SHARP and clean cut this was a pain in the ass to do damn flash shows... so needless to say this required a touch my hands are not steady enough to do so behold! my first ever attempt to ink with photoshop with eh...mixed success... I do enjoy the thick colored outlines thought even if doing colored line art AGAIN makes me wanna punch babies. ( I say I hate it but I'll probably try it again on my own style when the challenge is over, call me a glutton for punishment) I can't get over the girls of El Tigre, their designs are SO CUTE! it was an absolute pleasure to apply their charm to Candy, but once again: I had Issues with Mack. El Tigre is another one of those shows that has nothing but MANLY men in their line up so to draw one with a thin build is problematic SO to get around that I wound up referencing the body from a teenage girl (.......*sniggle*) and I'm glad I did because well...lets just say I would not hit any man from the show. ( them being like 40+ has little to do with it ) This style was a blast to do! I love bouncing between wobbly, fluid and unstable styles to crisp, clean cut and polished. it's great exercise! I highly suggest anyone wanting an artistic work out hop on this style challenge!
I hope you guys are having as much fun viewing the different art styles I run threw as I have drawing them!

Square Mack looks strangely friendly to me. His feet are so funny too!
Candy makes me think of a doll (I'd buy one like that!)
I like the colored lineart and the colors you chose: not too dark or bright to mess with their bodies.
I'm starting to like Mack more and more...

This is awesome! I hate to say "this is my favorite" because all your other works came out brilliant. This one, so far, sticks out the most!

You did very well on this style and I love how both of them turned out. The colored lineart is amazingly well done and I commend you for pulling it off well. Yo're right about their female designs; they are cute and I love especially how Candy translates into it. You pulled Mack off very well, too! This style challenge looks like fun and I can't wait to see more from this series.

I might not have guessed it was El Tigre immediately (maybe because it's been ages since I've actually watched tv...), but I like their designs no less (:
