Description
Time was running out! And Gina was closing in on me! Sometimes we make
mistakes and say and do stupid things based on what we see and not think
them through first!! Well, welcome to my world, at the moment.

When I stepped through the ropes and this little fluffy boxer was standing
across from me. She didn't look like much of a fighter and that's when my
arrogant side took over! Gina "The Closer" Yamamoto, reminded me of the
average, small boxer with limited skills and power!

She had ribbons in her hair, red lips and a timid look, that threw me a curve
ball, I couldn't hit. The first few rounds, I owned her with my quick jab and
ferocious body attack. I even had her on the canvas in the 3rd round, knowing
she wasn't going to get back up, too quickly.

And, I was right, except the bell saved her! I figured "...one more round left
little girl, and you'll be history!" as I sat down on my stool and waited for
the next round to start, with a twisted smile.

She even looked unsteady, when she got up from her stool, almost tripping
over her own two feet! It gave me the arrogance to give her the thumbs down
motion with my right glove!

Silly me! You'd think after having 27 fights under my belt, most of which
were with women, who were built like Fort Knox, would have taught me
just how resilient women boxers can be! It was all an act to lure me in,
like a large blue Florida Marlin.

Once I got close to her, she started banging me with machine gun like body
punches to get me to lower my guard. Then, she went up top! And, I can still
feel the sting, and the taste of her red leather gloves! They tasted like
bubblegum and left me with quite a few bruises!

Worst part of it was, the bell saved me that time! Tit for Tat, you say? Yeah,
I guess so.

"...you knucklehead! See! I told you those small, innocent looking fighters
from Japan, are fireballs when you make them mad! Maybe, now, you'll listen
to me?" Bobbie, my corner-woman, blasted me, while my eyes were still
oscillating from side to side.

I was 6 inches taller than Gina, and wasn't using my advantage, Bobbie noted to no
end. So, when the bell rang to signal the start of the next round, World War III,
broke out, as we brawled around the ring. Neither one giving in to the other!
Each one, enjoying the pain, he or she was inflicting on the other.

I enjoyed sending her down again, it was my gift to her! Gina in turn, laughed
as I went down on my knees, with blood trickling from my nose. It was a battle,
the crowd enjoyed as well, based on their boos and cheers.

However, one curious thing struck me. All throughout the first few rounds, Gina
never said one word to me. Then out of the blue;

"...You dog, you think my size is for you to step on?? Well, I show you why they
refer to me as "the closer".

She mumbled while we were in a clinch. Upon her stepping back, in slow motion,
she rocketed a right uppercut that landed right in my shorts! Using words
like "foul', "cheap shot" and "below the belt", didn't even come close to
describing the pure stabbing, agonizing pain, I was undergoing!

And with her standing across the ring smiling at me, I don't think I could
have felt any lower. I did get up finally, and battled Gina to a draw.

After leaving the ring, I went over to her dressing room to apologize for
my "bad manners". Yes, I know! Some of us realize, it's the nature of the game
to be tough and nasty, inside the ropes. Outside of them, is a different story!

And I didn't know what to expect, but to my surprise, she was very sweet and
promised that when we have our next fight, she won't hit me in the nuts
again; a small victory for man.
