Stardate 2269.4 With the success in the new tech from the Ulysses-Class dreadnought, the U.S.S. Constitution (NCC-1700) was selected to the first Starship to be refitted with a updated hull design, new bridge module, pulse phasers, longer range type-4 photon torpedoes and more advanced warp drive surpassing the speed of the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701) max speed of Warp 9.5. Captain Kirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701) expressed his disappointments to Starfleet Command about his ship not being the first Constitution-Class to be refitted. The second of Constitution-Class to be refitted with this modification was the U.S.S. Yorktown (NCC-1717).
