Description
Like the Constitutin-Class, the Farragut-Class was also refited and upgraded with the state of the art technology from the current era.

The U.S.S. Farragut (NCC-1647) rendezvoued with the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701) to Ceti-Alpha V to beam up the surviving stranded crew of the U.S.S. Reliant (NCC-1864) in 2284 and taken back to Earth. Lather that year, meny of the crew of the Reliant transfered to the Farragut and was schedualed to escort the H.M.S. Bounty to Earth. Unfortuantly she was rendered nuterlized by the Citatian Probe along with the U.S.S Constillation and the rest of Battle Group Eplison that attempted to disable or destory the probe.

In 2292, the Farragut was close to the Nutural planet Nimbus III, but her Commanding Officer - Captain Kyle didn't have the experiance to negotiate with the terrorists to saveguard the hostages, but was on stand-by in close poximity should the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701-A) needed assistance.

In 2294, the Farragut was on partol of the Federation/Klingon Neutral Zone and witnessed the destruction of the moon, Praxis. She was orded by Starfleet Command not to cross the Neutral Zone since the Klingon High Council refused any aid from the Federation. However, the ship was listed as part of "Operation Retreve" in an effort to recuse Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy from the Klingon Prision world of Rue'Penthe. Her assignment was to take up the Excelsiors' starbord flank and if need be to engage any patrol ships on the far side of the planet.

by 2296, the Farragut was allocated as a Cadet Ship to Starfleet Academy's training fleet and eventually decomissioded in the same year. She now is on display at the Fleet Museum.
