Should have realized why it looked familiar.
Note: the rectangular section on top with those 3 pads and the airlock is the umbilical connection. It's not as elaborate as the moorings on Star Trek Into Darkness, but....
And the antimatter hatches on the upper aft.
Oh yeah and a similar type of connection as the umbilicals instead of the conventional tow pad on the Ptolemy class.

Yep. It was when I did my own version of the Constitution class, I wanted it keep true to JJ's Enterprise with the warp core ejection while making more sense that it was antimatter pods that were being ejected. And I kept the trend.
But the grating is good, no need to change it.
